Breakfast includes freshly cooked rice in an earthen pot, thickly sliced grilled salmon, shaved bonito flakes (a rare treat these days), fluffy rolled omelet, large soft pickled plums, lightly pickled cucumber and daikon radish, and more—showcasing attention to both ingredients and hospitality.

All of the dishes were delicious, and the shabu-shabu and shellfish dishes in particular were outstanding! We could really taste the quality of the ingredients, and we were very satisfied. This was my first stay here. Because the price was so affordable, I honestly didn’t expect much—I just hoped to enjoy the Onsen, have some delicious food, and relax—but it was far better than I imagined. All of the staff were very kind and welcoming, it felt comfortable, the Room was kept clean, and both the Onsen and the meals were excellent. The weather wasn’t great, but we had a full view of the ocean right in front of us—an amazing景色. I would definitely like to stay again!

Natural Onsen baths and a wide variety of delicious dishes. It feels like a luxury Onsen Hotel from Japan’s Showa bubble era. There are older and newer wings, and from everywhere we enjoyed stunning views of the calm, rolling waves of Mikawa Bay. The lighthouse was charming and atmospheric. The many sets of Mikawa samurai armor and bridal kimono also gave us a sense of the history of Katahara Castle from the Sengoku period. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality.

It had been a while since I found a Ryokan that made me think, “I want to come back.” The view of Mikawa Bay right in front of us was truly stunning, and the sunset while soaking in the Onsen was unforgettable. The staff were all friendly and welcoming with warm smiles, which made our stay feel comfortable and worry-free. The meals, centered around seafood, were all delicious and very satisfying in portion size. The fresh sashimi especially left a lasting impression. I was looking for a Ryokan with an Onsen within two hours from home. I could enjoy the sea and the Onsen, and the meals were served as a kaiseki course rather than a buffet, so I was able to dine calmly and at a relaxed pace. All of the staff were very pleasant, and we had a comfortable stay. My grandchild and daughter who came with me were also very satisfied. Thank you very much. I would like to stay again.

They kindly accommodated our last-minute request for a pickup. We enjoyed dinner in a calm private room. The seafood dishes were exceptionally fresh, served with restaurant-quality tableware and presentation. The entire property was spotless, and it was clear that the hostess and staff clean thoroughly without cutting corners. Dinner was served in the Room, and the sashimi was fresh and delicious, with a sweetness that highlighted the quality of the fish. The boiled octopus, seasoned simply with salt, was tender and flavorful. However, it was disappointing that the bathroom in the Room had a strong unpleasant smell, possibly from not being used for a long time. Next time, I would love to try fugu in winter!

They promptly picked us up when we called from the port. The Room was upgraded for free as there was availability, and it was spacious and comfortable. It was also clean and well-maintained. The view from the bath was open and beautiful. For dinner, we enjoyed fresh sashimi, grilled small sea bream with salt, octopus shabu-shabu, boiled whole octopus, stewed large clams, tempura of a large conger eel, and octopus rice—all served freshly prepared in order. Everything was delicious. Breakfast had a wide variety of dishes that were all tasty; we ate everything and were completely full. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality!

This was our first stay, and it was a wonderful Accommodation. The hospitality, food, and cleanliness were especially excellent. We were surprised by the look-alike sisters (lol). I had so many questions that I ended up calling several times, but each time they kindly and carefully answered me, which left a great impression even before we arrived. There was a shower in front of the entrance to rinse off sand, plus space to dry float rings and sandals. On the rooftop there was also a washing machine and an area where you can hang laundry right away, so even if you go swimming two days in a row, there’s nothing to worry about. They even laid mats all the way to the bathroom so it was fine to come in wearing swimsuits after the beach—this Accommodation was truly a lifesaver for families with children! It looked like it might be a bit far from the beach on Google Maps, but it really wasn’t at all. The price was reasonable, and everything was set up to be so comfortable that we’d love to make this our annual summer vacation tradition!

Before visiting Himakajima, I researched accommodations and found that the reviews were not very favorable, so my expectations were low. However, the staff at the accommodation were all incredibly hospitable, providing exceptional service throughout my stay. While it was not an onsen, the large public bath was spacious and relaxing, offering a similar experience with views of Ise Bay and Mikawa Bay. The sunset from the room was extraordinary—a scene reminiscent of a novel's opening line describing "a magnificent twilight," visible across the peninsula. The only disappointment was hearing that octopus catches have been poor recently. I look forward to visiting again when I have another opportunity.

The building is old but kept clean, so there were no issues. The bath includes an open-air bath where you can relax while enjoying the night sky and ocean in a private setting. Dinner was very hearty, featuring Chita beef, Ise lobster, sashimi, sushi, and octopus rice—truly satisfying. The buffet-style breakfast was also delicious. The staff at the accommodation were extremely kind. The fluffy and warm futon was excellent as well. The return shuttle service felt like a thrilling roller coaster ride!
