Despite being assisted by international staff, the service was outstanding, with excellent language use and thoughtful attention to detail, and we were very satisfied. The meals were delicious across the board, not only seafood, and we were impressed by the care taken to serve each course at just the right time based on our dining pace. Our 4-year-old grandchild must have been tired and fell asleep during dinner, but you kindly made a bed using chairs beside our table so we could continue our meal without having to take them back to the Room, for which we are truly grateful.

All of the dishes were delicious, and the shabu-shabu and shellfish dishes in particular were outstanding! We could really taste the quality of the ingredients, and we were very satisfied. Natural Onsen baths and a wide variety of delicious dishes. It feels like a luxury Onsen Hotel from Japan’s Showa bubble era. There are older and newer wings, and from everywhere we enjoyed stunning views of the calm, rolling waves of Mikawa Bay. The lighthouse was charming and atmospheric. The many sets of Mikawa samurai armor and bridal kimono also gave us a sense of the history of Katahara Castle from the Sengoku period. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality.

Unfortunately, it rained with occasional cloudy skies, so it was a shame we couldn’t enjoy the spacious garden terrace in sunny weather. Going down the stairs without a handrail felt a bit scary because it seemed slippery, but overall we were satisfied.

I was looking for a Ryokan with an Onsen within two hours from home. I could enjoy the sea and the Onsen, and the meals were served as a kaiseki course rather than a buffet, so I was able to dine calmly and at a relaxed pace. All of the staff were very pleasant, and we had a comfortable stay. My grandchild and daughter who came with me were also very satisfied. Thank you very much. I would like to stay again.

We were worried about the outdoor pool in the extreme heat, but the sea breeze kept it cool and our grandchildren enjoyed it. Snow crab was served at dinner, which surprised everyone since it was summer. They also grilled steak for us, and it was delicious. The watermelon was sweet, and there were also chocolate fondue and ice cream. The breakfast buffet was wonderful too, especially while enjoying the ocean view. We would love to stay again.
