Dinner features a full-course pufferfish meal. Breakfast includes freshly cooked rice in an earthen pot, thickly sliced grilled salmon, shaved bonito flakes (a rare treat these days), fluffy rolled omelet, large soft pickled plums, lightly pickled cucumber and daikon radish, and more—showcasing attention to both ingredients and hospitality.

The staff's service was somewhat curt, but both dinner and breakfast were delicious! It would be even better if the dinner dishes were explained more thoroughly and the front desk had a brighter atmosphere.

They kindly accommodated our last-minute request for a pickup. We enjoyed dinner in a calm private room. The seafood dishes were exceptionally fresh, served with restaurant-quality tableware and presentation. The entire property was spotless, and it was clear that the hostess and staff clean thoroughly without cutting corners. Dinner was served in the Room, and the sashimi was fresh and delicious, with a sweetness that highlighted the quality of the fish. The boiled octopus, seasoned simply with salt, was tender and flavorful. However, it was disappointing that the bathroom in the Room had a strong unpleasant smell, possibly from not being used for a long time. Next time, I would love to try fugu in winter!

They promptly picked us up when we called from the port. The Room was upgraded for free as there was availability, and it was spacious and comfortable. It was also clean and well-maintained. The view from the bath was open and beautiful. For dinner, we enjoyed fresh sashimi, grilled small sea bream with salt, octopus shabu-shabu, boiled whole octopus, stewed large clams, tempura of a large conger eel, and octopus rice—all served freshly prepared in order. Everything was delicious. Breakfast had a wide variety of dishes that were all tasty; we ate everything and were completely full. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality!

I had so many questions that I ended up calling several times, but each time they kindly and carefully answered me, which left a great impression even before we arrived. There was a shower in front of the entrance to rinse off sand, plus space to dry float rings and sandals. On the rooftop there was also a washing machine and an area where you can hang laundry right away, so even if you go swimming two days in a row, there’s nothing to worry about. They even laid mats all the way to the bathroom so it was fine to come in wearing swimsuits after the beach—this Accommodation was truly a lifesaver for families with children! It looked like it might be a bit far from the beach on Google Maps, but it really wasn’t at all. The price was reasonable, and everything was set up to be so comfortable that we’d love to make this our annual summer vacation tradition!

Before visiting Himakajima, I researched accommodations and found that the reviews were not very favorable, so my expectations were low. However, the staff at the accommodation were all incredibly hospitable, providing exceptional service throughout my stay. While it was not an onsen, the large public bath was spacious and relaxing, offering a similar experience with views of Ise Bay and Mikawa Bay. The sunset from the room was extraordinary—a scene reminiscent of a novel's opening line describing "a magnificent twilight," visible across the peninsula. The only disappointment was hearing that octopus catches have been poor recently. I look forward to visiting again when I have another opportunity.
