Kinnotake Sengokuhara is a Ryokan inspired by the famous Japanese tale "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter" (Taketori Monogatari). This mysterious story, whose author remains unknown, tells of a beautiful woman courted by five men, none succeeding in winning her heart... and ends with a fleeting romance with the emperor before she is taken back to the moon. With this enchanting tale as its concept, we have created a harmonious retreat blending Hakone's natural beauty with playful and extraordinary spaces designed to provide relaxation and escape from everyday life.

An Accommodation with 24 Rooms, designed for adults to savor a refined getaway. Enjoy a creative Japanese-Western kaiseki delivered from the live kitchen, and a drink by the fire in the lobby lounge—an inviting space crafted for true adult relaxation. Choose from two types of guest Rooms: the main building “Kaze Residence,” where you can listen to birdsong and unwind on a 120 cm-wide Simmons bed, or the detached “Miyabi Residence,” where every Room features a private semi-open-air Onsen bath. Enjoy the smooth waters of Gora Onsen in the large public bath with expansive windows, or in the open-air bath surrounded by Sengokuhara’s natural beauty.

Hakone Kairai is a private Onsen Accommodation limited to one group per day, set on a 1,800 m² property surrounded by the nature of Sengokuhara, Hakone. A single-story residence and a Japanese garden create an extraordinary space for relaxation. The interior consists of two Rooms—a living room and a bedroom—and can accommodate up to 4 adults. Enjoy a hinoki indoor bath, an open-air bath, and a private sauna with temperature control in 1°C increments, as well as a projector for powerful big-screen viewing. For dinner, we offer either shabu-shabu or sukiyaki featuring premium Japanese black wagyu made with local ingredients.
