Detached houses built in the Kyoto-style Sukiya architecture are scattered, adorned with precious woods, garden trees, and flowing water, achieving a serene harmony of stone, water, and wood. We cherish the traditional beauty of Japan and its spirit, incorporating the passage of time to continue providing a warm and peaceful retreat. The history of Fujiya Ryokan is long-standing, with records indicating that its predecessor, an Onsen inn, existed as far back as the late Edo period. In fact, buildings from the end of the Edo era remained until 1968. During the Meiji era, Fujiya Ryokan, Itoya Ryokan, Nakanishi Ryokan, and Amanoya were said to have formed a beautiful landscape with their main buildings, annexes, and other structures nestled amidst rich natural surroundings and gardens.
