Located in a quiet area in front of a shrine, this is a whole-house rental property. We ensure thorough cleaning and disinfection for your peace of mind. This property is designed for those who wish to spend their time at leisure. Our goal is to help guests discover the true charm of Takayama. The property is a renovated 95-year-old house. The first floor features an open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area with plaster walls and solid wood flooring, along with bathroom facilities. The second floor consists of three connected six-tatami mat Japanese-style rooms. While just a 5-minute walk from the old town streets, it is located on a quiet hilltop surrounded by lush greenery and many temples and shrines.
About a 15-minute drive from Hida Takayama’s historic old town. This small Accommodation sits quietly in a rural satoyama village at the gateway to Chubu Sangaku National Park. JINEN, meaning “nature,” reflects an ancient Japanese view of nature: “to become as it naturally is.” Rather than forcing change, we live alongside nature within its flow. This is a place where you can experience the sensibility of satoyama life. Inside, you’ll find dining chairs crafted by local workshops and brushed cedar flooring, among many details that showcase Hida craftsmanship and the warmth of wood throughout. In this setting where nature and daily life are in harmony, please spend your time here just as you wish.
A 10-minute walk to famous tourist spots such as the old streets of Hida Takayama. Our facility is located among a cluster of temples on a hill, which was once a samurai residential area protecting the now-lost Takayama Castle. The surrounding area retains much of its historical charm, offering a very quiet and peaceful environment. In front of us lies a walking path that circles the temples, where many visitors, including international tourists, enjoy strolling. Our facility began 200 years ago as a bathhouse for a temple and was established at its current location 90 years ago. Through continuous renovations, it has been praised as a bathhouse that blends the nostalgic charm of the Showa era with modern enjoyment. In 2022, we expanded our spacious outdoor area, adding a large open-air pool with Epsom salt, a cold water bath with drinkable water from Hida Takayama, and a wood-fired sauna. Wood-fired saunas are rare even across The whole country, attracting many visitors from afar. Guests can also enjoy self-service wood stoking and "löyly" (steam infusion). The baths vary in temperature from low to high, allowing you to relax in the bath at your preferred temperature. The pool-like open-air bath is set at a lukewarm temperature, making it very popular with children. After exploring the streets of Hida Takayama, please enjoy a relaxing bath to your heart's content.
