The former Aburaya, which served as a secondary inn in Oiwake-juku on the Nakasendo in Karuizawa, was relocated to its current location in 1938. In 2012, the building of the former Aburaya Ryokan was restored and reborn as "Aburaya," a place dedicated to "Books and Art Projects." The second floor of the main building now serves as a Property with No Meals Included.
