Nakadanaso was founded in 1898. A secluded Accommodation in Komoro, Shinshu, with ties to the literary master Toson Shimazaki. Inspired by the founder’s vision, the building is wooden throughout, offering the warmth of natural timber. Our natural Onsen, fed directly from our own source and flowing freely, is known for its gentle, silky feel and skin-beautifying qualities. Guided by the belief, “Is there not a way to make oneself more fresh—and more simple?”, we welcome you with heartfelt hospitality. Leave the bustle of everyday life behind and enjoy a relaxing stay as you reflect on history and savor the nostalgic charm of Shinshu.
A Property boasting an open-air Onsen with a panoramic view, accessible via a mountain train at an altitude of 1,000 meters. From the Onsen, you can enjoy breathtaking views of Yatsugatake, Tateshina, and Saku Plain. In August 2024, the Property will reopen as "Kumojo no Teishajo," an Onsen Facility accessible by mountain train, featuring an infinity panoramic open-air Onsen, sauna, and a café & bar. Enjoy a world of relaxation above the clouds aboard the mountain train. For dining, we offer dishes that highlight local and seasonal ingredients. A highland town surrounded by the great nature of the Asama Mountain foothills, Komoro City, Nagano Prefecture. Once flourishing as a castle town of the former Komoro Domain and as a post town on the old Hokkokukaido Road, the town still retains its charming old streets. "Merchant's Era Property - Kaimonro Toki no Mon" is the world's only one-building rental Property where you can even stay in a traditional sitting room jail, adjacent to the nationally registered tangible cultural property "Former Yamazaki Chohei Store (currently Aramachi The GATE)." The Western-style store-cum-residence built in the late Taisho era (merchant architecture, signboard architecture) is lavishly constructed, reflecting the prosperity of the time. It offers a nostalgic experience with the concept of "staying as if living." Furthermore, as it is limited to one group per day, you can enjoy your stay without worrying about other guests. From solo travelers to families with children, group trips, or training trips, it is a safe and secure Property that caters to various needs. Having undergone renovations over approximately 100 years, the maze-like interior is adorned with intricate designs, allowing you to experience the playful spirit of Taisho-era merchants while enjoying a relaxing and safe stay. Located close to Karuizawa and with excellent access from major metropolitan areas, Komoro City is an ideal destination. When traveling, please consider staying at our Property, "Kaimonro Toki no Mon."
