We have designed a flexible accommodation style so you can fully enjoy your time at Izen. This is HATAGO Izen in Echigo Yuzawa, combining the relaxation of an onsen inn with the convenience and comfort of a hotel.

A 400-year-old traditional accommodation located on a hill in Echigo Yuzawa Onsen. The view from the panoramic bath is especially stunning, offering a sweeping vista of the town of Yuzawa and the Tanigawa mountain range. Relaxing in the natural flowing Onsen while enjoying this scenery enhances the sense of freedom during your journey.

The property served as the setting for the famous work 'Snow Country'. It features an exhibition room showcasing works by Yasunari Kawabata, the creator of 'Snow Country', as well as a literary archive, a book corner with hundreds of volumes, and a movie viewing room, making it an ideal facility for fans of 'literature and onsen'.

A vast natural resort spanning 1 million tsubo at the foot of Mt. Naeba. During the Tsunan Snow Festival, thousands of lanterns and fireworks fill the night sky. Lantern launches are held daily during winter! In snow-rich Tsunan, enjoy exhilarating skiing and snowboarding on powder snow, as well as a snow play area perfect for small children! In summer, experience thrilling activities such as an 850m-long roller luge, a scenic lift to breathtaking Geopark viewpoints, free athletic courses, and more. Exciting events await in every season. After a day of fun, relax in our open-air Onsen baths or large public bathhouse. We also offer dog-friendly rooms and a dog run for your furry companions!
