Located in the nature-rich city of Myoko, Niigata Prefecture, Akakura Onsen is a historic hot spring area with over 200 years of history. Kounkaku is an Onsen Accommodation that has stood in this area since the opening of Akakura Onsen. After renovating the former Ryokan's large communal bath over a decade, it reopened in 2024 as a small private rental Onsen Accommodation. Out of approximately 90 square meters, 26 square meters are dedicated to a natural onsen bath with free-flowing hot spring water, accommodating up to four guests. Equipped with amenities such as a kitchen and washer-dryer, it is perfect for long-term stays and offers the comfort of a private villa. The property, boasting over 100 years of history, features the largest onsen water volume in the Akakura Onsen area.
