This has long been one of my favorite Accommodations, and the renovation has made it even more refined. The meals are no longer all-you-can-eat, but the kaiseki cuisine was still very satisfying. The open-air bath is outstanding.

Despite the excellent Facilities, the price even includes breakfast (with a wide variety of drinks besides coffee), and I was very satisfied. The bed was capsule-hotel style, but everything is new, spacious, and clean. There are showers only (no bathtub), but the water temperature, water pressure, shampoo, etc. were all perfectly fine. It was also a nice touch that they provide not only both large and small towels but also a bath mat. The only drawback? The building looks far cleaner and more serene than you would expect for the price (especially the entrance gate and garden give the impression of an upscale Japanese-style Accommodation), so I actually walked right past it thinking, “There’s no way I can stay here for this price—there must be another cheaper-looking building.” (Even though there was signage; it was my fault for not believing it.) With rows of sake breweries, it’s a charming streetscape that doesn’t feel like Tokyo at all. If I’d had more time, I would have liked to take a walk around the area.
