A private, standalone wooden mountain lodge set within a vast 4,000-tsubo private forest in Nagatoro, Saitama. After switching to a dedicated 4WD vehicle at the national highway and climbing an unpaved mountain road, you’ll arrive at an overwhelming sense of immersion—like stepping into another world that leaves everyday life completely behind. The lodge’s greatest appeal is that from anywhere during your stay—whether relaxing on the living room sofa or leaning out onto the breezy wood deck—you can fully take in the ever-changing seasonal forest and majestic mountain ridgelines. Brilliant fresh greenery in spring, fiery autumn foliage coloring the slopes red, and crystal-clear winter vistas: large wraparound panoramic windows and an open deck with no railing dissolve the boundary between you and nature. Breathe in pure mountain air you can never find in the city, and sink deeply into a truly restorative retreat surrounded by the living forest.

Ikoinomura Heritage Minoyama is surrounded by the rich natural beauty of Chichibu. From the guest rooms, enjoy panoramic views of the mountains in every season and relax in a warm, wood-accented space. For dinner, we serve a kaiseki meal featuring plenty of locally sourced seasonal ingredients. In the large panoramic bath, unwind while taking in the scenery of Chichibu, and soothe body and mind in our medicinal bath. With a focus on local production for local consumption, savor seasonal dishes made with locally grown vegetables and wild mountain plants.
