Founded 440 years ago. Our open-air bath, offering sweeping views of the mountain range from the upper floors, is a highlight unique to our Accommodation. We offer three private baths and a wide variety of guest rooms with distinct styles. In Ikaho, we are one of the few hot spring Accommodations where you can enjoy two types of waters: “Kodakara-no-Yu,” traditionally said to be beneficial for women; “Kogane-no-Yu” (Golden Hot Spring), said to be good for recuperation; and “Shirogane-no-Yu” (Silver Hot Spring), said to promote health. Ryokan Tamaki has been in operation for 70 years, during which we have identified three essential elements for a ryokan: friendliness, dignity, and emotion. A property that embraces Japanese sentiment, where you can visit casually and feel at ease. This is the philosophy of Ryokan Tamaki. If you have a regular place to stay, you don't need a villa. Tamaki is a small ryokan, but we provide great relaxation to everyone.

Our Accommodation is a hot-spring inn for guests aged 20 and over.In the early Meiji era, the 14th-generation proprietor, Yoshishige Fukuda, opened a new annex in Ikaho, Joshu—“Oku Ikaho Ryotei Kaichoro”—distinct in character from the family’s long-established Accommodation.In “Kaichoro,” “Kai” signifies tranquility, and “Cho” expresses our wish for guests to spend their time at ease; with this hope, we chose the name.From our carefully crafted cuisine to refined traditional Japanese-style Rooms and high-grade Rooms with an emphasis on design, all Rooms feature a private open-air bath. We also offer a spa and reservable private open-air baths, so you can fully enjoy your stay.

A historic Ryokan established during the Muromachi period. Our pride is the Onsen, "Golden Hot Spring," featuring natural free-flowing spring water. This authentic Onsen boasts a unique tea-brown color and is rich in mineral deposits. After enjoying the Onsen, we recommend taking a stroll through Ikaho's famous Stone Steps Street.

Pinon, a Western-style Ryokan, was inspired by my two-and-a-half-year study abroad experience in the UK during my twenties.Since childhood, I dreamed of becoming the proprietress of my family's Ryokan and was preparing for that goal during this time.In Ikaho Onsen, known for its healing waters, there were no accommodations where women could feel safe traveling alone, enjoy a hotel-like relaxing stay, or savor freshly made delicious Western cuisine.If I were to start an accommodation business myself, I wanted to create a place where I would personally love to stay—an accommodation unlike any other.With these thoughts in mind, this Hotel opened its doors in 1997.Since then, we have consistently provided a space where solo travelers or small groups can fully enjoy a private hotel experience,a unique "French-style Kaiseki" meal that can be enjoyed with chopsticks,and complimentary access to private Onsen baths available 24 hours—a hospitality unique to hot spring resorts.This is the perfect Accommodation for women looking to escape daily life and relax at their own pace. In addition to the spacious large public bath, we also offer a rooftop open-air bath with a panoramic view of the majestic mountains. You can fully enjoy a tour of the baths within the Facility. We especially recommend the guest rooms with semi-open-air baths, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the townscape of Ikaho and Mount Akagi while soaking in the Onsen. Additionally, the Facility is equipped with private baths, karaoke, manga, mahjong, table tennis, and other entertainment facilities that can be enjoyed for free. After leisurely enjoying the Onsen, spend a rich time with fun entertainment.

Starting from the entrance lobby with a nostalgic alleyway atmosphere, rooms offering panoramic views of the Joshu mountains, a large public bath with tile murals, and the Ukigumo lounge also providing mountain views.
