During the Meiji period, Dr. Bertz, a German medical scientist, praised Kusatsu Onsen, attracting many foreign visitors to Kusatsu. Later, around Showa 27, the hotel was renovated into the current traditional Japanese-style Ryokan, but the name "Hotel" remained. The charm and spirit of hospitality from the Taisho era have been preserved to this day.

A Resort Hotel named Lavista (meaning "view") has opened on a hill slightly away from the central area of Kusatsu Onsen. This is the first facility in Kusatsu Onsen to feature a top-floor panoramic Onsen bath and four unique private Onsen baths, all free of charge, where you can enjoy two types of hot springs, including the famous Yubatake source. Additionally, all guest rooms are equipped with private open-air Onsen baths, allowing you to indulge in the "Yukawa no Yu" spring, different from the panoramic bath. On the top floor, the panoramic lounge offers inclusive services such as draft beer after a bath, an amenity buffet that delights women, and light snacks, tailored to different times of the day from check-in to check-out. For dinner, savor a carefully selected Western-style course meal.

"Kimuraya" is a Ryokan that was once operated by the representative's grandmother at Kusatsu Onsen. The new building of "Joyful Property Takamatsu" located in Kusatsu Onsen, Gunma Prefecture, has opened. A modern-style space with the concept of blending Japanese and Western elements. Our Property does not have Onsen or bathing Facilities, but we offer affordable accommodation as a Ryokan specializing in No Meals Included, allowing you to enjoy the many hot springs and dining options in the Kusatsu Onsen area. Self-check-in via tablet devices ensures peace of mind for late arrivals. Many solo travelers also feel comfortable using our services. The Room type is a standard Ryokan style.

Shiga Kogen Genji Firefly Park is right in front of our lodge! A hidden forest retreat nestled in a birch grove where fireflies dance. In summer, be enchanted by the *magical fireflies* and the *star-filled night sky*. In winter, enjoy endless skiing in the vast Shiga Kogen! Kumanoyu and Yokoteyama Ski Resorts are about a 5-minute drive away, and we also offer free Shuttle Service to the slopes.
