Kusatsu Onsen has long been known as one of Japan’s finest hot springs and remains a lively, popular destination for visitors. In the Onsen townscape, where traces of the Edo period still linger, steam rising from the Yubatake drifts through the streets, creating an authentic Onsen atmosphere. With convenient access via the Shinkansen and expressways, a wide range of sightseeing routes can be planned, and Kusatsu also serves as a central hub.“Mukashigokoro no Accommodation Kanemidori” is a welcoming Accommodation with 120 years of history that cherishes the spirit and warmth of bygone days.

KURBIO is a name derived from the combination of the German word "KUR," meaning "healing, recovery, treatment," and the Greek word "BIOS," meaning "life." KUR is often associated with Kurhaus (a Facility for therapeutic and recuperative purposes, often featuring an Onsen), and BIO is commonly heard in recent years in the context of macrobiotics (a dietary approach translated as "the art of longevity"). Kusatsu Onsen Hotel KURBIO is designed with the desire to help guests restore their physical and mental health through both aspects. It offers a serene environment, the renowned hot springs of Kusatsu, and daily meal menus based on macrobiotics. This is a new style of healthy resort that has not existed in Japan before.
