KUR is often associated with Kurhaus (a Facility for therapeutic and recuperative purposes, often featuring an Onsen), and BIO is commonly heard in recent years in the context of macrobiotics (a dietary approach translated as "the art of longevity"). Kusatsu Onsen Hotel KURBIO is designed with the desire to help guests restore their physical and mental health through both aspects.
