Minato-machi Sakata flourished as a hub for Kitamaebune trade during the Edo period, and its prosperity was once praised as "Sakai in the west, Sakata in the east." Additionally, the nearby bustling district allows you to enjoy the delicacies of Shonai's sea and mountains, as well as sake made with renowned local spring water, making it an excellent choice for both tourism and business.
