A modern highland resort nestled in a majestic forest. The building's design is inspired by the railway tracks from Kenji Miyazawa's fairy tale "Night on the Galactic Railroad." From the top-floor observatory bath, you can enjoy views of seasonal mountains, while the open-air bath surrounded by trees offers a relaxing forest bathing experience.

At the Hachimantai Rising Sun Hotel, surrounded by the natural beauty of the four seasons, you can enjoy a flowing Onsen. From the windows, you can admire the breathtaking view of Mount Iwate, standing at 2,038 meters, a sight so stunning it has been featured in the works of Takuboku Ishikawa and Kenji Miyazawa. Additionally, the spacious lobby lounge features a large fireplace, filling the air with the comforting scent of wood during winter. For dinner, we offer a semi-buffet style meal centered on Japanese cuisine made with local ingredients. Furthermore, soft drinks are available for unlimited enjoyment from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and alcoholic beverages from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

An Accommodation awarded the Ecotourism Grand Prize “Special Award,” featuring a Nature Guide Station with certified guides on-site to help you fully enjoy the stunning nature of Hachimantai. The signature dish is thick-cut roast beef made from domestic beef, slowly baked in a stone oven. We also serve dishes using Iwate’s premium branded ingredients. We offer a 66 m² suite furnished with Western-style furniture; with a separate living area, you can relax in greater comfort. From the open-air bath overlooking a panoramic wilderness, take in Hachimantai’s ever-changing beauty through all four seasons.
