At Kikkawa, you can feel the refined spirit of Kyoto—an appreciation for making everyday life beautiful and joyful. It began as an Accommodation I hoped to stay at at least once in my life; before I knew it, this was my 11th visit. A superb culinary Ryokan I wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who truly loves Kyoto.

We were very satisfied again—thank you for taking such great care of us. This time, five friends made a Reservation for two Rooms, and when we asked to change it to 2 guests and 3 guests plus 2 infants, you kindly accommodated the change without hesitation. All of the staff were very friendly. There is also a large public bath, the Rooms are clean, and even with two meals included it is very affordable. On weekdays we received a ¥1,000 coupon per person, and we always stop by Iori on the 1st floor for parfaits before heading home. It can also be used for beer at dinner, which is a great deal. The rooftop terrace was also very pleasant. The location is one stop from JR Kyoto Station, and there is also a Keihan bus from the Hotel. If you get a ticket at the front desk, you can ride to in front of The Thousand Hotel near Kyoto Station for ¥100, which is very convenient. We will definitely stay again. Thank you very much.

This is my second stay. After my previous stay, I mentioned a small concern in a comment, and I received a prompt reply, which left a very positive impression and made me want to stay again. During this second visit, I was warmly asked at check-in if there was anything they could help with, which made me glad I came. The hallway leading to the Room and the interior atmosphere were both excellent. I will definitely stay here again.

All the staff were wonderful. We waited a little at breakfast, but the gentleman at the entrance gave a deep bow and apologized with a smile, which made us feel comfortable and enjoy breakfast. I felt satisfied that I had stayed at a truly good Hotel for the first time in a while—something you don’t experience at foreign-owned Hotels or with their staff. I would definitely like to stay here again in the future.

More than worth the price. Unlimited coffee was also available. Since I take baths both at night and in the morning, I was delighted that they happily provided extra towels. After visiting shrines and working up a sweat, I checked in, got extra towels for the large public bath, rested a bit, went out for dinner, and then took another bath. Of course I also bathed in the morning. The shampoo and other amenities were branded products. The breakfast buffet was well stocked as well. I will definitely stay again.

Whenever I visit Kyoto, I always stay at this Hotel. I’ve lost count of how many times it’s been. Once again, the consistently warm hospitality allowed me to spend a truly relaxing time. The only disappointment was that parking is now charged. I suppose it was surprising that it had been free for guests in that location until now (laugh), and I really appreciated it. I know it may be difficult, but I can’t help hoping it might come back again someday. Thank you again for taking such good care of me this time as well. Thank you.

I stayed here twice a few years ago, and I was truly happy to be able to return after a long time. All of the staff were genuinely pleasant, and I had a very relaxing stay. In particular, thank you to Mr./Ms. H (I’m using an initial as I’m not sure if it’s okay to share the name) who assisted with my check-in. One thing only: I used FORNI for both dinner and breakfast. At dinner, my meat was upgraded, but I wasn’t asked about my preferred doneness. At breakfast, we were told it would be a choice of main dish plus a semi-buffet, but later we were informed that choosing the Japanese set would not include the semi-buffet, which was a bit disappointing. Even so, this is truly a wonderful Hotel. I look forward to visiting again.

I stayed at this Hotel in Kyoto during my summer vacation with my girlfriend. It was calm and relaxing, without any noisy crowds. The staff provided attentive, composed service, which made our stay very comfortable. The Room was also clean. Above all, the breakfast was excellent—delicious! I will definitely stay here again when I visit Kyoto. Thank you very much.

Close to the station, and they were able to store our luggage, which made our trip in the hot summer very comfortable. The Room was also very spacious. The interior and bathroom were clean as well. There is a step at the bathroom entrance, and after freshening up, I was surprised by it. The staff were very helpful, and it made for an enjoyable trip.

Stayed at the accommodation after a long time. The quality of the room, the garden view from the window—everything was truly wonderful. The location is also excellent. Additionally, it felt like the service has improved significantly compared to before. I was able to relax and enjoy my stay. I was delighted to receive a stollen for Christmas as well. I was able to spend a luxurious time enjoying the view of the Kamo River from the stylish living room. The underfloor heating was also included, making it very comfortable. I also appreciated being able to adjust the lighting. At night, I dimmed the lights for a more relaxing atmosphere. The ambiance of the Japanese-Western style bedroom was nice, and I slept soundly. The owner kindly explained everything and had a wonderful personality. This time I stayed for only one night, but next time I would love to stay for a Multiple Night Stay!

I stayed alone, but I was warmly welcomed and enjoyed a pleasant stay in what felt like a private setting. I was the only one who requested meals, but both dinner and breakfast were absolutely delicious. The bath is small, so it’s not perfect, but this is definitely an accommodation I would love to visit again.
