A renowned Ryokan, Sumiya Ryokan, featuring a sukiya-style architecture, offers an exceptional sense of tranquility that feels far removed from the bustling streets of Kyoto. The kaiseki dinner is exquisite, and on the evenings of the 7th and 17th each month, tea ceremonies are held in the tea room for your enjoyment.

Yoshikawa was established as a culinary Ryokan after World War II, located near the Kyoto Imperial Palace in the heart of Rakuchu. The garden, known as "Taikyoen," is said to have been designed by Enshu Kobori and retains some features from the Edo period. The Sukiya-style building, once a residence of a wealthy merchant, offers an atmosphere of tranquility and charm that feels far removed from the bustling city. THE HIRAMATSU Kyoto was born on Muromachi Street in Nakagyo Ward, the heart of Kyoto—an area dotted with long-established shops and convenient for sightseeing. A traditional Kyoto machiya townhouse, steeped in the city’s history and culture, has been given new value and reborn as an urban luxury Hotel. The Hotel features a kappo restaurant and a restaurant, and offers 29 spacious guest rooms where you can relax despite being in the city center. The design was supervised by Nakamura Sotoji Komuten of Kyoto, renowned in Japan and abroad as a leading workshop for sukiya-style architecture.

Opened in June 2019, conveniently located just a 1-minute walk from "Karasuma Oike" Station. All Rooms are non-smoking and feature Kyoto-inspired interiors. We provide original beds co-developed with Simmons and feather duvets, ensuring a high-quality and comfortable sleep. Within walking distance to Nijo Castle, Kyoto Imperial Palace, and Nishiki Market, making it ideal for sightseeing.

Oakwood Hotel Kyoto Oike boasts a convenient central Kyoto location, making it ideal for exploring the city’s culture and history. It is conveniently close to municipal subway and private railway stations, as well as a variety of restaurants and souvenir shops. Nishiki Market is just a 3-minute walk away, and Shinkyogoku and Kawaramachi are within a 5 to 10-minute walk.At the Ryokan, we take pride in serving our meals in your Room for both breakfast and dinner. While in-Room dining has become less common in recent years, you can enjoy the traditional Ryokan dining experience here. Our kaiseki cuisine, in particular, is highly praised for its use of seasonal ingredients and Kyoto-style presentation.Each Room is equipped with a private bath and toilet, but we also have a communal bath available. Though not large, the bath features a hinoki cypress tub, offering a relaxing way to unwind from your travels.In recent years, we have also introduced barrier-free Rooms.
