A renowned Ryokan, Sumiya Ryokan, featuring a sukiya-style architecture, offers an exceptional sense of tranquility that feels far removed from the bustling streets of Kyoto. The kaiseki dinner is exquisite, and on the evenings of the 7th and 17th each month, tea ceremonies are held in the tea room for your enjoyment.

Yoshikawa was established as a culinary Ryokan after World War II, located near the Kyoto Imperial Palace in the heart of Rakuchu. The garden, known as "Taikyoen," is said to have been designed by Enshu Kobori and retains some features from the Edo period. The Sukiya-style building, once a residence of a wealthy merchant, offers an atmosphere of tranquility and charm that feels far removed from the bustling city. While in-Room dining has become less common in recent years, you can enjoy the traditional Ryokan dining experience here. Our kaiseki cuisine, in particular, is highly praised for its use of seasonal ingredients and Kyoto-style presentation.Each Room is equipped with a private bath and toilet, but we also have a communal bath available. The building, featuring a historic design, is a renovated modern architecture originally built in 1914, allowing guests to feel its history up close during their stay.
