Oyama, the inner retreat of Tenryo Hita, is a scenic area blessed with the Hibiki Gorge and plum blossoms. We named this place “Okuhita Onsen” and our Ryokan “Umehibiki.”In this land where plums have been lovingly cultivated for generations, we cherish the plum blossoms and use the fruit to make umeshu (plum liqueur) and umeboshi (pickled plums). Tenryuso, with its long history, has been renewed as "Ryokan Tenryu" in the summer of 2023. It has been reborn as a gentle Property focusing on comfort in sleeping, bathing, and staying. While preserving the warmth of the historic building, all Rooms are river-view and equipped with beds, featuring body-friendly soft flooring. Amagase Onsen, one of the three major hot springs in Bungo, is popular as a skin-friendly beauty Onsen. For dinner, we prepare a colorful Japanese kaiseki meal that highlights the seasons, using mainly local Oita ingredients.
