In October 2019, at Japan's oldest Dogo Onsen, we proudly opened as Japan's latest environmentally friendly ZEB (Net Zero Energy Building) Hotel. With the concept of "kindness to people and the environment," we offer the relaxation of an Onsen inn and the comfort of a Hotel stay. Facing the symbol of this area, the "Dogo Onsen Honkan," enjoy the spectacular view of Matsuyama's castle town from our Onsen large public bath. Savor a main dish and buffet dinner featuring seasonal ingredients from Setouchi. Immerse yourself in history and literature, experience Japan's oldest Onsen, and spend a high-quality, special moment with your loved ones.
We offer Hinoki wooden baths in all rooms, using water drawn from the Dogo Onsen. Each villa is named after a type of hardwood traditionally used in Japan, such as Yamaboshi, Hanamizuki, and Kunugi. The guest rooms, crafted from natural materials and imbued with the scent of wood, provide a warm and soothing atmosphere. Enjoy a luxurious and extraordinary time on the spacious wooden deck terrace while experiencing the changing seasons.
"Tsubonakagawa" is a relocated and restored traditional Japanese inn originally known as "Nakagawa," which was dismantled in 1983 from its location in Akasaka, Tokyo. The first "Nakagawa" was built in 1927 but was demolished during wartime evacuations. The current structure was rebuilt in August 1951 and served as a venue for military, financial, and political dignitaries until 1982. Preserving as much of the original authenticity as possible, we have carefully restored the building to allow guests to experience its historical essence firsthand. The front garden is the only pure Japanese garden designed by Zenko Adachi, founder of the Adachi Museum of Art. This historic estate with its unique stories is available for exclusive rental as part of Okudogo Ichiyu no Mori Royal Suite accommodations.
