The wooden architecture, built in 1927 and recognized as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan, along with a 300-tsubo Japanese garden, retains its charm. In November 2013, the Property underwent a major renovation of its lobby, dining area, and large public bath, transforming into a modern Japanese Ryokan that blends history with contemporary design.From the Room's veranda, guests can enjoy the changing seasons in the garden, or lose themselves in a book in the library. After changing into a yukata, take a leisurely stroll to explore the local Onsen baths, and then savor the delights of the Sea of Japan paired with local sake in the modern dining area. Located right by the central bathhouse “Ichino-yu,” Kobayashiya is an Accommodation designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property, featuring a rare three-story wooden main building. The views from the rooms truly deserve to be called the best seats in Kinosaki. Following the renovation, the property now includes penthouse suites with bedrooms wrapped in washi paper, a serene lobby finished with earthen walls, and carefully selected tea ware from regional kilns placed in each room—wherever you look, you’ll feel the beauty of traditional Japanese aesthetics. The newly opened restaurant serves course meals based on local cuisine. Three free private baths are available for guests.

Our Property aims to be a Hotel-style Ryokan offering No Meals Included with breakfast only, and we do not provide dinner. For dinner, we hope you will explore the town of Kinosaki and enjoy local gourmet dishes at various delicious restaurants. If you are unsure where to go, please feel free to ask us, and we will be happy to assist you. For breakfast, we prepare a simple and comforting meal. We serve freshly cooked rice made from Tajima-grown rice, known as some of the best in Hyogo, along with miso soup and local free-range eggs. Additionally, we offer a private Finnish-style sauna for exclusive use. Not only can you enjoy the public Onsen hopping in the town, but you can also relax and rejuvenate thoroughly—perfect for sauna enthusiasts. Located 350m from Kinosaki Onsen Station along the main street, just a 5-minute walk. Take advantage of our prime location at the foot of Jizo-yu Bridge, where the willow-lined Otani River, a quintessential Kinosaki landscape, begins, and enjoy the entire town of Kinosaki.
