The Yumoto Saito Ryokan, with a history of 284 years, is a charming property blending the Shirahone Onsen and the traditional ambiance of Shinshu. “Sawando” means “a place where rivers meet.” In December 1998, Onsen water was brought to this area—long used as a gateway to Kamikochi—and Sawando Onsen was born. The Shirahone Onsen Shirafune Grand Hotel is a property boasting open-air baths surrounded by deep mountains at an altitude of 1,400m. Shirahone Onsen, known for the saying "bathing for three days prevents colds for three years," contains carbonic components and is a neutral water gentle on the skin. The panoramic large bath also features a drinking fountain, allowing you to experience the benefits of the water from within.
