Long ago, rapeseed was pressed here for oil, which was then carried to town; people gathered around the glow of lanterns in shared moments of togetherness. With time, a bathhouse was built, warming days spent on therapeutic stays—and today this hot spring inn has greatly expanded the pleasures of touring hot springs on your journey. Aburaya Tosen is a place to slow down and stay awhile at ease.
A traditional Sukiya-style accommodation with 5 rooms, each featuring a private open-air bath, opening on March 1, 2024.Here, you can relax to your heart's content. As an annex of the historic "Shinshu Yudanaka Onsen Yorozuya," which has been welcoming guests since the Edo Kansei era, this new accommodation will be reborn on March 1, 2024. The previous Matsusho-so was designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property in 2003 and cherished by many until it was lost to fire in 2021. The building incorporates design elements of the original Matsusho-so while embracing traditional Sukiya architecture that harmonizes with nature.
