A Place That Sets the Prelude to Your Journey A misty plateau. Mountain ridges standing quietly in the distance. Once, the Shinano Railway ran through here—now it is the prelude to the journey ahead. HACIENDA KARUIZAWA is a small, cabin-like Hotel at the gateway to Karuizawa. Step out of the station and through our door, and time begins to slow. This is a place to pause and catch your breath before you set off. From here, your own unforgettable Karuizawa journey begins.

Located within walking distance of the Hoshino area, our four private villas blend seamlessly with nature. The property features a charcoal grill restaurant and bar. Enjoy your stay with peace of mind, supported by 24-hour dedicated service that exceeds Hotel standards. Surrounded by the warmth of wood in a serene forest setting, you'll feel as if you've returned to your own Karuizawa retreat, experiencing quiet and tranquil moments. In the open moss garden surrounded by lush green forests, enjoy evenings by the fire or BBQ under the night breeze.
