Mikuni Minato is a historic port town mentioned in the Shoku Nihongi in 778. During the Edo period, it flourished as a port of call for Kitamaebune trading ships traveling between Osaka and Hokkaido. Ten traditional townhouses scattered throughout the area have been renovated into nine buildings with 16 guest rooms and a restaurant.
