Nikko Chuzenji Onsen × Highly rated Hotel·Ryokan

The weather wasn’t great, but the view from the window was wonderful, and I had a comfortable stay. The meals looked beautiful and tasted great, and I really enjoyed them. I was surprised by the afternoon-tea-style presentation. Towels are provided at the Onsen, so you can go without bringing anything. You can wear the samue anywhere in the building, which makes it very relaxing. The samue is comfortable to wear, and it has pockets so you can carry your phone with you.

The property was quiet, and I was able to relax very comfortably. The Onsen was also a milky white sulfur spring, and it felt like it would be good for the body. It was a Hotel that made me want to visit again.

To escape the Tokyo heat, I visited Oku-Nikko again this year. With concerns about bears, I chose this Hotel because both the open-air bath and the guest rooms felt safe and reassuring. It was my first stay in several years, and perhaps due to the renovation, the room, baths, and lounge were all very clean, making for a comfortable Hotel stay. The meals were delicious; if I had to mention one thing, I would have appreciated a Japanese-style option on the second night of my two-night stay. I would definitely like to stay again.

An Accommodation on the shores of Lake Chuzenji in Oku-Nikko. We stayed here as a base for trekking routes to Kotoku Marsh, Yudaki Falls, and Ryuzu Falls. From the drink service in the lobby onward, it is a very relaxing Accommodation. We were also very satisfied with the Onsen and the meals.

We stayed one night with breakfast and dinner included as a family of three. The location is quiet, and the building and Room are clean and not particularly old. However, it seems the property was originally a retreat facility, so even though it’s called a Hotel, there is no shop or entertainment Facility. There are also no convenience stores or drugstores nearby. The meals were very delicious, but they were not buffet-style; they were served as a kaiseki course, with dishes brought out in order from appetizers to dessert. Meal times were fixed (breakfast at 7:30 and dinner at 18:30). Dinner in particular was quite early for us, and we couldn’t finish everything because we weren’t hungry enough yet. The person who seemed to be the chef looked Middle Eastern/Arab, but both the food and service were excellent. The bath water is natural Onsen water and was wonderful. The bathing area isn’t large, but even with six people using the washing area, the showers were manageable. As for the Room, if I had to mention something minor, one of the small light bulbs didn’t turn on. There is air conditioning (central), but even in August it was cool at night, so we could sleep with it off. Overall it was clean and a good stay, but not being able to choose meal times felt like having to fit the Hotel’s schedule. It seemed there were several groups staying there, but only one other group besides us had two meals included; most guests appeared to be No Meals Included. If you stay No Meals Included, note that most restaurants along the lakeside close by early evening. There are also cup noodles available in the vending machine on the first floor.

We originally planned to stay near Nikko Station, but we made a Reservation after seeing the great Reviews. The Facility is certainly old, but there is also a private bath, so we were able to relax. Above all, the food was absolutely delicious! Dinner was French cuisine with both fish and meat, and breakfast was a generous spread including fluffy omelets and juicy sausages. My family who traveled with me was very satisfied as well. Thank you very much.

My first trip to Nikko felt far from Osaka, but I was finally able to visit Ritz, which I had wanted to go to for so long. It was such an extraordinary experience and incredibly refreshing. The weather wasn’t great, but the temperature was 10°C lower than in Osaka, which made it very comfortable. The Room was beautiful and had a view of Lake Chuzenji. Above all, the Onsen was the best! At first, I thought the sulfur scent was quite strong when I stepped in, but the water left my skin silky smooth—I wanted to soak in it every day. That night we had burgers via in-room dining; they were hearty, delicious, and left us completely satisfied! I also chose the Japanese breakfast I had been looking forward to, and it absolutely lived up to expectations. We used the shuttle bus as well. I thought I might get carsick on Irohazaka, but the driver’s careful and skillful driving really impressed me. It became a truly wonderful memory. Thank you very much.

The meals, the room, and the staff were all excellent.

I have been longing for the autumn leaves of Lake Chuzenji (Chūzenji) for 10 years. Moreover, that time is my birthday! But it's so hard to get a reservation. This time, when I happened to check, it was available!? Surely there was a last-minute cancellation. I hurriedly made a reservation. All the staff at the property were smiling and cheerful, with excellent hospitality. The futon was so fluffy, I couldn't help but dive in! The bath was amazing, and the food was excellent. I was surprised at how delicious the Nikko pork was. I thought Tokyo X was supreme, but this was great too! As soon as I got home, I made a soy milk hot pot with Tokyo X. It was so delicious! The recommended sake was also very tasty, and even my wife, who doesn't usually drink sake, gulped it down. Breakfast refills were free, and I ended up having three bowls. I woke up early to take a bath, photographed the full bloom of autumn leaves while basking in the morning sun, and took another bath until just before checkout... I think I went in about five times in total? The water was truly wonderful, and I could stay in it forever. It seems to have become very popular after being featured on TV. I was really happy to be able to stay. Thank you very much.
