Inspired by the appreciation for the serene and tasteful beauty of all things, we named our property "侘桜". A 200-year-old thatched-roof house has been relocated to a tranquil mountainous area near the small Kyoto of Kakunodate. We hope you can relax and enjoy your time here.
Lovely Stays around the Onsen Area
By the shores of Lake Tazawa, there is something that remains unchanged. Not excessive decoration or bustle, but a quiet way of life rooted in this land—and the warmth of its people. As you remove your shoes at the entrance and feel tatami beneath your bare feet, the tension of everyday life gently melts away. Spend tranquil moments wrapped in the comfort of tatami throughout the building, in an interior warmed by Akita cedar. Meals are served in a private dining room where you need not worry about others’ eyes. Enjoy local flavors nurtured by this region, including Akita Nishiki Wagyu and our signature Kiritanpo hot pot. This is not a place to add more—it is a place to let go of what you don’t need. We offer you the finest luxury: serenity, shared with someone dear to you.
