Hanamaki Onsenkyo × Stays Popular For Snow-View BathsHighly rated Hotel·Ryokan

The amenities, service, cleanliness, atmosphere, meals, and attentiveness—everything was perfect. We had a truly comfortable stay. If I had to mention one thing, it would be that I wish there were a few more non-alcoholic options on the menu. This has become one of the places we’d love to return to.

Thanks to the information you shared by email in advance, we were able to arrive smoothly at Yukaen by shuttle bus on the day. Check-in was explained carefully, and we stayed comfortable throughout. We considered sightseeing on the second day, but since we had fully enjoyed Chuson-ji on the first day, we decided to focus on relaxing in the Onsen instead. We booked a head and hand course at Nagomi-yu for day use, had lunch, and spent a leisurely time. The fried shrimp and minced meat cutlet I ordered for a daytime drink were impressively generous portions and delicious. The lounge pancakes were also great—I finished them in no time. Dinner on the second night featured a different menu from the first, so we enjoyed a fresh atmosphere as well. The guest-focused hospitality was truly pleasant, and my friend and I left saying we'd love to come back again. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.

Since my injury, we’ve been celebrating our birthdays here in a Room with an open-air bath. I love Onsen, but I was afraid to use large baths and had given up. Then, as a birthday gift for my husband, we came here, and using the bath in our Room helped me regain my confidence—so it has become our regular Accommodation ever since. It’s wonderful.

The room was spacious and quiet. The in-room bath is also fed directly from the hot spring source, which was very relaxing. The alkaline hot spring (pH 9.3) leaves your skin feeling wonderfully smooth. The large public bath was also spacious and enjoyable. The meals were luxurious and absolutely delicious. Because the duvet cover is very slippery and tends to slide off, I think it would be better to change the cover material. All of the staff were very kind as well. I’d love to visit again.

Every year during the Obon homecoming season, my mother-in-law and I stay here. The Room, bath, and meals are excellent. However, the nighttime event (show) during Obon has been the same every year, so I would really like to see some different events offered. I look forward to staying again next year.

It was my first time in Hanamaki, a town that brings to mind Kenji Miyazawa and Shohei Ohtani. I arrived in just under an hour by shuttle bus from Shin-Hanamaki Station. This is a wonderful Ryokan with the nostalgic charm of the Showa era, exactly as I had imagined. I arrived after 4:00 p.m., and since dinner started at 5:30 p.m., I hurried to the Onsen. First was “Katsura-no-Yu.” After washing, I headed to the open-air bath. Watching my step, I made my way down to the lower bath and soaked slowly while looking out over the mountain stream—pure bliss. After a short break, I tried “Hakuen-no-Yu,” the most famous standing bath here. For me, the water at “Hakuen-no-Yu” felt softer. Dinner was very lavish; we also added sea bream and crab shabu-shabu. Everything tasted excellent, and I enjoyed every last bite. After that—and again the next morning—I soaked in the Onsen about three more times in total; it truly was an Onsen-filled stay. My favorites were “Hakuen-no-Yu” for its soft water and the open-air bath at “Katsura-no-Yu,” where you can relax while gazing at the stream. The Onsen was so good that I even made a Reservation for November on my way home. Next time, I plan to stay at “Jusangatsu.”

We stayed at Hotel Hanamaki while visiting Shohei Ohtani’s alma mater during our trip to visit family graves. We stayed for one night from June 24, and we were very happy with the excellent value for money. For dinner, we enjoyed crab, steak, tempura, and a customizable kama-meshi (I chose one loaded with crab). What impressed me most was breakfast—it was easily the best I’ve had among all the places I’ve stayed. There was delicious rice and a wide selection of both Japanese and Western dishes. Even at 65 years old, I was completely satisfied and even went back for seconds—especially for the freshly made omelet, grated yam (tororo), salted seafood (shiokara), mekabu seaweed, minced tuna (negitoro), pickles, and more. We were also able to explore several different baths, and my wife and I made wonderful memories. Thank you very much.

Located in a secluded area with an exceptional view from the window! The atmosphere, reminiscent of a place where bears might appear, adds to the charm!

The room was very clean and spacious, allowing for a relaxing stay. The meals were delicious, and the large public bath and open-air bath offered both hotter and slightly warm options, making it easy to enjoy for extended periods. Despite being early September, cicadas were chirping, creating a nostalgic atmosphere to savor the end of summer while relaxing in the open-air bath. Thank you to all the staff for making it a memorable experience!

Dining by the atmospheric irori hearth was wonderful in both ambiance and taste. Breakfast was not a buffet, so we were able to enjoy it at a relaxed pace. The staff were kind, and it was a comfortable Accommodation. The sink being unusually low bothered me a little, but it wasn’t too inconvenient. I was happy that the in-room bath had tiled walls that gave a nostalgic Showa-era feel. Thank you very much for taking care of us.

We stayed for one night as a family. The Facility was even more satisfying than we had imagined based on the Reviews. Check-in and check-out were very smooth, and the staff were also very kind and helpful. We stayed in the Kaede Wing Room. Getting there was a bit complicated, but the Room was clean. Compared with the Satsuki Wing, there was a slight smell, but it wasn’t strong enough to bother us during our stay. The amenities were minimal with nothing unnecessary— only towels and toothbrushes. There were no snack trays, and only tea was provided with the electric kettle. My mother, who came with us, seemed to find it a little lacking, but since we could enjoy free ice cream, drinks, and alcohol in the lounge, I didn’t feel it was lacking at all. I wish the buffet had offered a few more items. Our child was looking forward to dessert, but there weren’t many options and they seemed disappointed. Other than the meals, there were plenty of Facilities to enjoy inside for a full day, and we made great memories playing table tennis and enjoying the lounge and kids’ park.

Thank you for letting me use part of the garage space as a parking area after I informed you I would be arriving by motorcycle. The next morning, I departed in light rain, but I appreciated being able to prepare at a relaxed pace. The large public bath was well stocked with amenities, and the open-air-style bath was very comfortable. For dinner, I chose the slightly more luxurious option with steak, and it was so good that I ended up finishing everything before I knew it, even while enjoying drinks. When I requested alcohol to enjoy in my Room, you thoughtfully provided it at just the right chilled temperature. Although there seemed to be several group guests as well, it was quiet and relaxing throughout my stay. This Accommodation truly showed considerate attention to detail in many ways.
