A soothing getaway in a tranquil forest, featuring comforting dishes made with local ingredients

Kamenoi Hotel Aomori Makado is located in a quiet, relaxing forest about an hour’s drive from Aomori City, the prefectural capital. Take your time exploring the prefecture on the Aoimori Railway, which runs from Aomori City via Hachinohe to Sannohe Town, or visit the Sannai-Maruyama Site—part of the UNESCO World Heritage “Jomon Prehistoric Sites in Northern Japan”—about an hour away by car. For dining, we offer a variety of dishes featuring Aomori seafood and locally sourced ingredients.

Accommodation in the Hakkoda Mountains where you can enjoy freshly sourced onsen bubbling up from beneath your feet.

Yachi Onsen, one of Japan's three secret hot springs, is located in the Hakkoda Mountains and boasts a history of over 400 years since its opening. The gentle water, naturally gushing directly from the bottom of the bath, is effective for back pain and eczema. Enjoy two different types of spring water: the 38°C sacred spring called "Shimo-no-Yu" and the 42°C milky white "Kami-no-Yu."
