“So that everyone, equally, can rest body and mind in nature.” Nestled deep in the mountains of Ashio, “Ashio no Yado Kajika” continues to cherish and uphold this guiding principle. We welcome everyone seeking true rest. You won’t find lavish Facility features or excessive service here—only our silky-smooth, pH 10.0 natural hot spring water from our own source, dishes that honestly showcase Nikko’s seasonal blessings, and the quiet luxury of time flowing gently by.Take in the beauty of each season, unwind in the large hall after your bath, and simply sleep in peace. We look forward to welcoming you with the same reassuring comfort and soothing waters as always—so you can leave with a light step, thinking, “I’m glad I came.”
We take pride in our Onsen, a variety of baths, and handmade cuisine crafted without relying on pre-made products (limited to a set number per day). Guests can enjoy five private baths at no additional charge. All baths feature free-flowing Onsen water. You are welcome to use the hinoki wood family bath or the stone family bath freely. The natural Onsen water is colorless, odorless, and sourced directly from our private spring on-site, flowing continuously (free-flowing source). Notably, Gennoyu and Koshiburo Ichinoyu are supplied directly through natural gravity as they are located lower than the spring source. Please note that as this is a wooden building, there is no elevator; guests will need to use stairs. Meals are served in the dining area. For stays of three nights or more, meals from the third night onward will repeat the menu from the first and second nights. We regret that we cannot accommodate changes to meal content (including allergies or preferences). All rooms and indoor areas are non-smoking, including electronic cigarettes.
Enjoy all-you-can-drink service during the dinner buffet, along with our lounge, in-house activities, and a special snack buffet just for dogs. Treat yourself and your dog to a memorable time that will bring smiles to you both. (Valid for stays from Oct 1, 2026 to Feb 28, 2027; may be extended.)
