Hikone · Nagahama · Moriyama × Stays Popular For SunsetsHighly rated for dining at Hotel·Ryokan

The interior was simple yet warm, with plenty of wood throughout. As it’s all-inclusive, afternoon tea was delicious. I also fully enjoyed the heated infinity pool and jacuzzi. True to the Hotel’s name—Sunset Marina—the sunset was breathtaking. At dinner, the staff kept just th

The tranquility of sunrise and the mirror-like beauty of the lake's surface, as well as the fiery red skies during sunset, offered truly calming scenery. The locally sourced dinner course was exceptional, especially on the second day. The breakfast was also satisfying with its

I stayed here during my Biwaichi trip. You can bring your bicycle into the room, and while you are in the room, you can also charge your e-bike battery. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The restaurant meals were also very delicious. The bath was comfortable as well. I’ll definitely stay here again for Biwaichi or other trips!

This was our first stay, and it was even happier than we expected. We sincerely thank all of the staff. After the courteous welcome service upon arrival, we were first amazed by how spacious the property is. It is also beautifully maintained, decorated for Halloween, and filled with photo spots throughout—we were grateful to enjoy them as well. The dog run is large, and it’s even divided into three separate areas. Toys are provided too. The lounge is clean, easy to use, and fully stocked with drinks. The area around the hotel is also well maintained for walking, so we enjoyed a refreshing early-morning stroll. The meals at the restaurant were delicious—just as wonderful as they looked—and our dog was thrilled too! Reservations are required in advance, but it must have been truly tasty because our dog finished everything in no time. Being able to dine together at the restaurant made us incredibly happy! Except for the large public bath, we could stay together everywhere. We used the large public bath by taking turns as a couple; it was spotless and very relaxing. The staff’s warm attentiveness during meals was remarkable—we truly appreciated their kind service. The other guests staying on the same day were also all kind and friendly. We made so many happy memories here. We would love to visit again! Thank you for two days filled with happiness!

We chose this accommodation for its views of Lake Biwa. The scenery throughout the property was exactly as shown in the photos on the website, and we were captivated by the refined design and attention to detail. We booked a plan with breakfast and dinner included, and every dish—made with plenty of local ingredients—was absolutely delicious. We would love to come again, and we would also like to recommend it to someone special. Thank you for your warm hospitality.

Everything was excellent, including the room, service, bath, and meals. Despite the heavy rain, the Shuttle Service from the station was extremely helpful. Thank you very much. I would love to stay again if I have the opportunity, and I look forward to seeing you then.

This was our first trip traveling with our dog. The Room was clean, the amenities were well stocked, and the food was very delicious. The staff were also kind to our dog. We would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

This stay reminded me how important the place you choose to stay can be when traveling. The facilities may not be more extensive than anywhere else, but it was a wonderful place where I truly felt the care and thoughtfulness for guests. I also came to love Shiga Prefecture and would like to visit again next time.

This was my first stay in Oku-Biwako. I was looking for a relaxing getaway close to Osaka and found this inn. The scenery of Oku-Biwako, which I was seeing for the first time, was truly soothing. Every dish was delicious, and I also enjoyed the beautiful tableware. I asked in advance whether ayu (sweetfish) would be included in the meal and was told it wouldn’t be available, but on the day they kindly changed part of the menu to grilled salted ayu, so I was able to enjoy it during my stay. The large public bath had clean face towels provided, so there was no need to worry about towels. From parking guidance to the dining staff, everyone worked efficiently and left a great impression. I’d love to visit again in another season to enjoy more great food.

I stayed in a room with a private hot spring. I was happy that the amenities were organic. The hot spring warmed me up gradually, which was great. However, the shower pressure was weak, so it took a long time to wash my hair. The room also had a great view. It would have been even better if the curtains were automatic. I only had breakfast, but there was plenty of fresh fruit and I was satisfied. Only one shuttle bus per hour is far too few.

This was a calm, relaxing Ryokan right in front of Lake Biwa. The three of us—my older sister, my 93-year-old mother, and I—stayed here to celebrate my mother’s birthday. All the staff were very kind, and above all, every meal was delicious and truly enjoyable. The amber tea sweets are Futabaso’s original specialty and were incredibly tasty. I wanted to buy some but had given up because there was no shop on-site. When I asked a staff member, they told me it could be ordered for delivery, and they kindly prepared it for us before we left—making it the perfect souvenir. It was such a comfortable Ryokan that it made me want to book a Multiple Night Stay. Thank you very much to all the staff.

At the lounge, enjoying drinks and snacks while admiring Lake Biwa and the sunset was truly blissful. The meal venue provided carts for carrying trays, which was very convenient. All the meals were delicious. The amazake at the post-bath lounge is highly recommended as it tas

After a lot of deliberation, I decided to stay here. It was a last-minute booking. There’s nothing around the area. That’s why this place offers dinner as well: there’s a restaurant and teppanyaki, and in the bathhouse there’s also a food-court-style area serving reasonably priced set meals, udon, snacks, and more until 9:00 PM. The room was spacious, and there was also a comfortably sized smoking area. The baths include an open-air bath, and the women’s side is spacious too! Breakfast is buffet-style. Nothing flashy, but the seasoning is good and it’s more than sufficient. I don’t think you’ll find another place nearby at this price with facilities this well equipped.

I stayed here while doing the Biwaichi route, but it was such a wonderful inn that next time I’d like to visit with the specific purpose of staying here and enjoying the food. The room was clean and spacious. The tatami in the living area felt great on my tired legs after a long ride, and I could stretch out and relax. I could even watch the sunset from the bath; it isn’t a hot spring, but the jet bath was so comfortable that I was completely satisfied. The bathroom floor was also gentle on bare feet—every small detail felt thoughtfully designed for comfort. The Simmons bed was very comfortable as well, and I slept soundly. Above all, what deserves special mention is the cuisine. The course meal, centered around lake fish caught that day, was truly delicious dish after dish—one pleasant surprise after another. I had assumed freshwater fish might have a distinctive “fishy” taste, but I was genuinely impressed by how beautifully the natural flavors were brought out. Every plate reflected careful preparation and skillful cooking. While we enjoyed traditional dishes throughout, an unexpected dessert appeared at the end: vanilla ice cream made with rice used for funazushi! At first I couldn’t imagine what it would taste like, but it turned out to be astonishingly good—an unforgettable specialty you can only experience here. Just one note: our room this time was on the second floor and access was via stairs. If stairs are a concern for you, it may be best to ask before booking. They also offer private rental accommodations (a whole building), but since I didn’t see them myself, I can’t comment on indoor steps or layout. A comfortable room and cuisine that truly feels unique to this place—what began as just one night along our journey became a cherished memory in itself. I would love to return again.

The dog run is incredibly spacious—and beautifully maintained! It felt like a waste with just one miniature dachshund. The BBQ facilities are amazing too. It was a very windy day, but we had no worries at all. The food was great and delicious. The Room was just right, and it was very convenient that the bathroom, washbasin area, and toilet were separate. It’s close to Lake Biwa, and it felt like a private beach—looked like you could even swim there. We’ll definitely be back! We’re also looking forward to the camp site and RV site opening soon. Thank you very much.

Arriving in Nagahama after sightseeing at Ishiyamadera past 5:30 PM and leaving the Hotel at 8 AM the next morning for the Chikubushima Cruise, we couldn't relax as much as we wanted. However, the Room was a beautifully renovated storehouse, providing a cozy and comfortable stay. Although we didn't have time to use the sauna, the large bathtub in the Room allowed us to unwind and recover from our travels. The Spanish bar recommended to us offered delicious wine and food, leaving us very satisfied. We wish we could have stayed longer!

The timing for clearing the dishes was very poor. Although I had informed you of my buckwheat allergy, it was very disappointing that you still tried to serve buckwheat. The food was very delicious and excellent. Thank you very much.
