From the front desk with a panoramic view of Hakone’s great natural scenery to the Room with a private open-air bath, everything was excellent! The food was also very satisfying. The incense service and drink service were plentiful and much appreciated. The staff were very kind as well. We’ll be back!

Being welcomed back with “Welcome home” always puts me at ease from the moment I arrive at the front desk. It was very crowded during the Silver Week holidays, but even so, the staff’s warm hospitality—such as wiping my rain-soaked suitcase with a spotless white towel—meant so much to me. The bath was just right, and as always, the meals were delicious and beautifully presented. Whether it was the food or the wine, I truly enjoyed a deeply satisfying time. I have an intense workload ahead through next year, but when I’m worn out again, I’d love to come back for some relaxation.

We stayed here for our wedding anniversary trip. From the moment we arrived until the very end, we truly had a wonderful time. The Room was spacious and spotless, with thoughtful attention to every detail. It was so comfortable that we honestly wished we could stay there forever. We were also delighted to receive a Room upgrade this time—thank you so much. Above all, the meals were beyond words—absolutely delicious. Every single dish was outstanding, and the dining experience itself became a special memory. Because it was our anniversary, you even prepared a surprise dessert plate for us. We were deeply touched by your unexpected kindness. All of the staff were warm throughout our stay, full of attentive care and hospitality, and we found ourselves thinking again and again how glad we were to have chosen this place. The Room, the meals, the Onsen, and especially the staff’s thoughtfulness—everything was exceptional. We couldn’t be more satisfied with our stay. We have stayed at many Accommodations over the years, but this is without a doubt the best one we have ever experienced. We are truly glad we chose “Hakone Gen” for such an important anniversary. Stayed with my dog. Due to my mistake, I had made a Reservation for a different Room than intended, but they kindly helped me change it, which was a great relief. Both the Room and the in-room open-air bath were wonderful. The large public bath was spacious with excellent water quality, and I enjoyed it many times. The meals were excellent in both quality and quantity for both breakfast and dinner, and I thoroughly enjoyed them. It seems the owner will be changing, but I hope everything will continue just as it is now.

We had another wonderful stay. No matter which Fufu Accommodation we visit, we are always delighted by the consistently heartfelt hospitality and the truly careful, delicious cuisine. At Fufu Hakone this time as well, we were soothed by the warm welcome from all the staff and were able to enjoy a relaxing, luxurious time. An Accommodation that makes you want to come back—Fufu is still number one for me. This time, we also made use of a wonderful IKYU benefit, which made our stay even more enjoyable. I am truly grateful for this special opportunity. We will do our best in everyday life and look forward to coming back to Fufu again. Thank you very much.

With September bringing constant rain, we made a last-minute Reservation by choosing a day that looked likely to be sunny. Thanks to that, we enjoyed a spectacular view of Mt. Fuji from our Room. First, our impressions of the Room: the spacious layout, the airy open-ceiling design, the calming Japanese-style corner, and the large sofa—all complemented by an incredible panoramic view through the front windows that simply left us speechless. The view from the open-air bath was, of course, outstanding as well. As the clouds shifted moment by moment, Mt. Fuji revealed many different expressions. As for the meals, every single dish was carefully prepared using local ingredients—truly delicious and exceptional. The staff’s thoughtful hospitality was also wonderfully comforting, making this a stay we would absolutely love to return to.

It was a lovely, small Hotel with a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The free-flow option was great. The chandelier in the dining room was sparkling and beautiful. The meals were delicious as well. I was satisfied with the Onsen, the Room, and the service. Above all, it wasn’t noisy or crowded—just calm and peaceful.

From the moment we arrived, the staff’s courteous service made us look forward to a wonderful stay. The Room felt open and airy, with lush greenery visible through large windows, and the layout was thoughtfully designed for ease of use. The very spacious semi-open-air bath was at just the right temperature, so we ended up soaking for a long time; perhaps thanks to the spring quality as well, we felt warmed through to our core. The meals used a wide variety of ingredients, were clearly explained, and offered delicious dishes with plenty of variety. Given our age, there was more than enough in both quantity and quality without ordering anything extra, and we were very satisfied. Because it is not a large Accommodation, getting around was easy and stress-free without any chance of getting lost, which we also appreciated. Even at departure they took great care in seeing us off—an Accommodation that left us with a pleasant afterglow. The total cost can vary widely depending on food and drinks (wine), but this time we felt it was an excellent value for money. We have one more favorite Accommodation in Hakone now.

This time, we visited Lake Kawaguchi and Hakone for the first time, looking forward to seeing Mt. Fuji as part of my wife’s birthday trip. Although it was too cloudy to see the Mt. Fuji we had hoped for, we stayed at Setsugetsuka Bettei Suiun in Hakone and were able to fully enjoy the area. Our Room was a Standard Fourth, and it was very practical and well maintained with thorough cleaning, so we had a comfortable stay. The Onsen was at just the right temperature for me and left me feeling refreshed from the core, and it was also great to be able to use L’OCCITANE shampoo. For dinner, being able to choose the main dish and rice during the meal felt like a thoughtful service that let us decide based on our appetite. Breakfast offered such an abundant variety that we were so full we couldn’t even eat lunch afterward. The after-bath lounge area, along with complimentary drinks and snacks on each floor, was also a welcome service whenever we felt a little hungry. The staff’s hospitality was polite and easy to understand, which left a strong impression on us as well. After checkout we went to Gora Park, and at that time a parking staff member kindly advised us that taking the mountain railway one stop would allow us to walk downhill from top to bottom more easily—very helpful advice for an older couple like us. We hope to come back soon for our “I want to see Mt. Fuji with my own eyes!” revenge trip, and when we do, we would love to stay with you again.

Since we reserved a detached Room, we were able to check in early and enjoy the open-air bath at the large public bath at our own pace. The Room was spacious and spotless, and above all, the charming open-air bath was outstanding. The meals were not only made with quality ingredients but also thoughtfully prepared with extra care, which we enjoyed to the very end. Every member of the guest room staff was pleasant, chatting with us in a friendly way while keeping a comfortable distance. This is an Accommodation we would love to stay at again.

We are always very satisfied with the pleasant hospitality, delicious meals, and relaxing Onsen. This time, we chose the teppanyaki dinner course for the first time, and it was delicious and very satisfying. It made us want to visit again right away, so as soon as we returned home, we promptly made our next Reservation. We look forward to staying with you again.

It had been a very long time since my last visit. The warm, homey atmosphere was just the same, and the Onsen water was as wonderful as ever. Lately I’ve mostly stayed at Accommodations with an Onsen in the Room, but I was reminded again how great Yunohana is—unchanged and truly special. I’ll be back again. The meals were delicious too.

We stayed here to celebrate my aunt’s 91st birthday. Just as the Reviews said, not only was the staff’s hospitality outstanding, but every Facility and service was truly top-class. For my aunt, who has difficulty walking, the barrier-free interior made it very comfortable. During our 2-night, 3-day stay, we didn’t step outside the Hotel even once—we simply relaxed and took it easy inside—and both my aunt and I were extremely satisfied. It was a wonderful Hotel that made us want to come back and also recommend it to friends. Thank you very much to all the staff!

This was my second stay. Just like last time, I was very satisfied. Each dish was well seasoned, and the freshly fried tempura was delicious. The sushi was slightly dry, but still acceptable. Since it was a buffet, empty plates were cleared quickly, so I could go back for seconds comfortably. I would like to come again.

We stayed here to celebrate my father’s 88th birthday. Only my parents stayed overnight; after I escorted them to their Room, I left. The proprietress remembered that it was for his 88th birthday and arranged a surprise celebration with the staff. Both my father and mother were truly delighted, and I’m told it became a wonderful memory—thank you very much. This is a lovely Ryokan with exceptional hospitality.

• Guest Rooms The Room wasn’t new, but it was very clean and comfortable. • Service The staff who assisted us during meals were pleasant—polished yet friendly. • Onsen The open-air bath with a view of Mt. Fuji was amazing! The in-room bath was also very comfortable. • Facility The relaxation room on the first floor was dark and a bit scary. Otherwise, no issues. • Meals Truly delicious. Even my partner, who is picky about food, was very satisfied. The portions were just right. I’d happily return just for the meals.

We stayed for one night to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. All the staff were always smiling, and their service was polite and attentive, so we had a very comfortable and enjoyable time. Upon arrival, we were shown to a private room next to the lobby, where we enjoyed some tea and sweets while choosing yukata. The lobby also had books and a souvenir shop. On the rooftop terrace there was a footbath, and we could truly relax while looking out over Lake Ashi and the surrounding mountains. We didn’t use them this time, but there was also a table tennis room (paid) and a kids’ room. The view from the open-air bath in our Room was amazing—I ended up soaking three times: on the first evening, at night, and again after breakfast on day two (haha). It seems they can also adjust the set temperature of the open-air bath upon request. In addition to the shower next to the open-air bath, there was also an indoor bathroom in the Room. I was happy that the hair dryer in the Room was ReFa. We had both dinner and breakfast during our stay. Both meals were served in the same private room we were shown to upon arrival. Dinner started at 18:00, and breakfast could be chosen between 8:30 or 9:00—great for someone like me who isn’t good at waking up early. Dinner included dishes such as salt-crusted grilled spiny lobster as well as lava-stone grilling of Kanagawa beef and Ashigara beef, which made it really fun. Both dinner and breakfast were truly excellent, and my girlfriend was very satisfied. The large public bath wasn’t very big, but it wasn’t crowded at all—we were able to bathe almost privately most of the time. The water was milky/opaque (nigoriyu), and my skin felt pleasantly soft afterward. I’ve been to Hakone several times, but it’s rare to find an Accommodation this good. We would definitely love to stay again. Thank you very much!

Thank you again for a wonderful stay. This was our first drive in our new car and also our first stay at Gora Kadan, but we were met with heavy rain. Even so, thanks to the warm welcome from all the staff, your help with loading and unloading our luggage, and your thoughtful care for my mother-in-law, all of our worries disappeared and we were able to enjoy a comfortable stay. Four of us stayed here on a girls’ trip. We booked a guaranteed Mt. Fuji view Room and were thrilled to see such a beautiful Mt. Fuji! The Room had a nostalgic Showa-era feel, but it came with basic amenities and tea, and since we only stayed one night and didn’t spend much time in the Room, it was more than sufficient. The meals (with breakfast and dinner included) were delicious, and there was so much food we couldn’t finish it all even though we wanted to try more. In the morning, we could hear Japanese bush warblers singing, which felt wonderfully refreshing, and seeing majestic Mt. Fuji made it an unforgettable memory! If we have the chance, we’d love to visit again.
