Yufuin × Highly rated for customer service and hospitality at Hotel·Ryokan

This was my first stay in Yufuin, and I chose this Accommodation. The staff’s hospitality was very pleasant, and both dinner and breakfast were a delight—each dish was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, making it a truly blissful time. The Onsen was wonderful as well; after bathing, my skin felt silky smooth. Another Accommodation I’d love to visit again has been added to my list.

The service was outstanding. It was the best hospitality I have ever experienced at any Accommodation. The sashimi of Seki horse mackerel, Bungo beef, and local chicken were all delicious. I was able to relax in the open-air bath while gazing at the beautiful starry sky. I would definitely like to stay here again.

The Accommodation, the staff, the meals, and the Onsen were all outstanding. The meat and eggs in particular were unforgettable. If I visit Yufuin again, I will definitely stay here!

This was my second stay. Last time, I stayed during a snowy season, so this time I was able to relax until dinner and fully enjoy the sight of green trees swaying and the gentle calls of evening cicadas from my clean, refined Room. The meals here are delicious both in the morning and in the evening, with plenty of vegetables. Of course, the fish and meat were also excellent—everything was flawless. Above all, the staff’s smiles were wonderful, and their service was attentive and professional, which made me feel truly happy. I will definitely come back to stay again when I have time. This was our third stay. We stayed with three families, including our sons. They kindly provided a large banquet room so we could have dinner together, and we enjoyed a lively, wonderful meal. As always, we were impressed by the heartfelt dishes made with seasonal ingredients. Thanks to the attentive service down to the smallest details, we had a very comfortable stay. As expected of Kamenoi Bessou.

Although the building and Room are not the newest, the staff’s thoughtful hospitality—clearly reflecting excellent training—felt genuinely warm rather than scripted. The food was also stylish and delicious, and we had a very comfortable stay.

The meals were delicious, and having a private family bath allowed us to relax and enjoy our stay. I was happy that yukata-style loungewear was provided. I did feel the waistband elastic could have been a bit tighter, but it was still comfortable to wear. We could sense thoughtful attention in many little details, which made us feel warmly welcomed. This was my first stay at this Accommodation, and I stayed in the “Kunugi” Room. After reading Reviews beforehand, I arrived excited about the view from the Room and the generous meals—and in conclusion: it was amazing!! The view of Mt. Yufu from the open-air bath in the Room was breathtaking, and the interior had a lovely retro feel. Above all, it was incredibly spacious! That said, I personally don’t do well with insects, so coexisting with nature was a bit challenging (lol). I didn’t use the open-air bath much; instead, I enjoyed taking in the great outdoors through the glass window of the indoor bath. It made me think, “I want to come in winter!” and “I definitely want to come again!”—I’m already checking my schedule. Just as the Reviews said, the meals were very filling. There’s no way you won’t end up full! Everything was so delicious that I even had seconds of rice. They also offered to make onigiri for a late-night snack, so I gladly took them up on it (lol). After dinner, a staff member delivered the onigiri to my Room. I’ve stayed at many Ryokan across Kyushu, but this Accommodation is outstanding in terms of value for money and hospitality—an unquestionable 5 stars!! Seeing is believing. Highly recommended!! In winter, with clearer air, I’m sure you can see even more beautiful stars—so I’d love to visit again later this year or early next year. Thank you so much for such wonderful memories.

I stayed here with my mother. The Accommodation was spotless, and the meals were thoughtfully prepared and truly delicious! Above all, the hospitality from everyone at the Accommodation was outstanding. When I come to Yufuin again, it’s not just that I want to stay in Yufuin—I want to visit Yufuin so I can stay at this Accommodation.

Thank you very much—I’m truly grateful for such a wonderful trip experience. I had errands in Hita City (where record-high temperatures have been continuing), so I stayed overnight in Yufuin as well. It was intensely hot that day too، but from evening through night Yufuin felt like another world—so cool that air conditioning didn’t seem necessary. While winters are certainly very cold، I never expected Yufuin to be this cool in summer، so it turned out to be a happy surprise. The Onsen temperature was perfect—even in summer—for soaking slowly，and all my fatigue disappeared. In the morning，with Mt．Yufu right ahead of me，surrounded by birdsong，I enjoyed an unhurried soak. It was amazingly cool even then. As described，the shower does take a little time before hot water comes out. If set to mist mode，it stays cold. There are two private family baths، but one was under adjustment and unavailable، so I deducted one star. In-room drinks were available freely. Daifuku were prepared according to our party size؛ since they were cream-based، those who don’t like creamy sweets didn’t eat them. A more classic type of sweet might suit everyone better—but I personally enjoyed them. Dinner started with eel shabu-shabu before the main Wagyu steak course. I felt slightly uneasy at first—but it turned out absolutely superb!! It was part of the July menu (Fumizuki)، and I'd love to have it again. The plump texture and deliciousness clearly came from careful preparation. The soup after drawing flavor from the broth became wonderfully rich؛ I asked for refills many times。 They offered zosui (rice porridge)，but we chose to enjoy it as soup instead。 Then beautifully glossy white rice arrived—and turning that into porridge would have been such a waste，so I'm glad we kept them separate。 All other dishes also left my family—usually quite strict with reviews—very satisfied。 We could bring our dog without any hesitation۔ There is also a dog run that's just right for small dogs，and ours looked delighted running around。 Even though we'd stayed years ago ،they remembered that our dog hadn't finished his meal then ،and had eaten half at dinner و half at breakfast—which made us feel reassured۔ Service-wise ،there wasn't even once when something felt off۔ Although our interaction time wasn't long ，they took great care of us۔ Thank you again for everything۔ I hope we can return throughout different seasons۔

We truly enjoyed both dinner and breakfast, savoring delicious dishes made with local ingredients. The in-room bath was a luxurious free-flowing Onsen, available anytime for a relaxing soak. The Room was spacious and comfortable, and our whole family was very satisfied with choosing this Accommodation.

Choosing the Plan with breakfast and dinner was absolutely the right decision. Using the ingredients as they are, with a clever twist here and there, we found ourselves saying “oh!” again and again—it was a real delight. We highly recommend the meal Plan. The Room was clean, and the Onsen was very relaxing. It exceeded our expectations for the price. We’re already looking forward to the meals on our next stay. Our sincere thanks to all of your staff. My wife and I stayed here as a reward after work. Everything was wonderful—the butler service, the food, and the atmosphere. The early evening with a hint of autumn and the refreshing mornings were both amazing. Staying for about two nights would be perfect. Next time, I’d like to try another Room as well. Thank you—my wife was very satisfied too. The meat miso we received was so good we couldn’t stop eating rice.

Everything was very clean, and we had a comfortable stay. They provided drinks and sweets, and we really felt their hospitality. The Room and bath were stylish, and I think they would be popular with younger guests as well. There were also plenty of amenities provided. I was surprised to find the same shampoo and conditioner my daughter uses. The private dog run was spacious, and our dog was happy running around. It’s within walking distance of the station, and there’s a convenience store nearby. It was a wonderful Accommodation—thank you very much. Thank you for arranging the beds for three guests.

This was our third summer here. This year again, I stayed with my daughter. It was another scorching summer, and we had been spending our days in temperatures higher than body temperature, but Yufuin felt like a different world—so cool and refreshing. In the mornings and evenings, the air was pleasantly chilly with a gentle breeze. Even while soaking in the Onsen, it felt truly comfortable. The Onsen here is wonderful, and even in summer you can relax and soak at ease. The wind was strong due to an approaching typhoon, but the soothing rustling of the trees made it even nicer. Needless to say, every dish was delicious. We enjoyed flavors we’d never had before—it was such a pleasure. We’re always amazed by the chef’s creativity. Thank you as well to all the staff for your courteous service. We were able to relax completely. It became a fun and healing trip for just me and my daughter. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

On my first trip to Yufuin, I visited on a solo journey. Both the head lady at the front desk and the lady at the restaurant were wonderful, and I was able to spend a very comfortable time. The Room was very clean and felt warm and welcoming. I was also able to relax and fully enjoy the bath. It was a lovely Accommodation where time passed gently and with care. I’m glad I decided to come. Thank you very much.

We chose the Umitamago Room. There were lots of plush toys in all sizes, and the kids were thrilled! They tucked a big walrus plush into one futon and slept next to mom. While drifting off, they said, “Let’s come again.” The changing area was spacious, with a large mirror and bright lighting—very easy to use. I used to think Hotel towels were limited to one bath towel and one face towel per person and not very absorbent, but here we had one bath towel and two face towels each, and they were nicely absorbent. Both the front desk staff and the dining staff were kind to our children—everyone was wonderful. Meals included dinner and breakfast buffets, and both were delicious! If I had to ask for one thing, it would be a small toothbrush for kids. Overall, we were very satisfied and would love to visit again!

It was a wonderful stay. The serene atmosphere and the warm welcome from the staff were truly soothing, and soaking in the hot natural spring left me feeling refreshed from the inside out. The meals served in our Room were exceptional, and I was completely captivated by the delicious, beautifully presented dishes. I’ve already promised my mother and sister that we will definitely come again! I’m so glad we found such a lovely Accommodation.

This was our second stay. Both dinner and breakfast used local ingredients, and we enjoyed them very much. When staying in Yufuin, this is the Accommodation my family always requests. The staff were courteous, our privacy was well maintained, and we were able to relax at a leisurely pace. This Room also had both an indoor bath and an outdoor bath, so whenever we had free time, we soaked in the tub. We’re looking forward to our next visit.

This was my first stay in Yufuin Onsen. We stayed in a two-bedroom Room with an open-air bath. Each Room was separate, so it was very quiet and relaxing. The Onsen water left my skin feeling smooth, so I thought it might be alkaline. You can adjust the temperature of the open-air bath to your liking, which is perfect for anyone who prefers lukewarm baths! The Room felt a bit old, but it was spacious and easy to use. What I liked most was the firmness of the bed. I believe it was a Simmons mattress—just right. My wife loved it too. I didn’t have high expectations for the meals given the price, but we enjoyed them, including wagyu sukiyaki. The bottled beer we ordered with dinner was 650 yen, which felt inexpensive for Hotel pricing. Overall, I recommend this Hotel for those who want to relax and enjoy the hot water and nature without leaving their Room. Since it’s far from town, I recommend shopping in advance.
