Matsue × Highly rated Hotel·Ryokan for Onsen and bath

We stayed here to celebrate my mother-in-law’s 77th birthday. All the staff were incredibly kind, and the Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Above all, the breakfast was delicious, and our whole family had a wonderful time. We’re truly glad we chose this place. Thank you for such a lovely memory!

The room offers stunning views of the city and lake. The hotel restaurant serves authentic local cuisine, and everything was delicious.

We were welcomed at the entrance, completed a seated check-in, and when we arrived on our Room floor, the lovely aroma (bergamot) made us feel wonderful. Our Room was upgraded for us. The open-air bath in the Room was spacious and very relaxing. The large public bath was also excellent. Dinner was delicious from start to finish. The Shimane wine as an aperitif was so good that we also had a glass of white wine—and the tasting of three local sakes was outstanding. The meal included wagyu simmered in wine, simmered nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), Shimane wagyu shabu-shabu, and unameshi—all incredibly tasty. I was completely full and thought I could only manage dessert, but I ended up finishing everything. So full! Breakfast was also wonderful—the freshly grilled overnight-dried conger eel was amazing. And my favorite treat, the shijimi clam miso soup, had large clams and a light flavor; it naturally made me let out an “ah,” like something out of Bakébaké-style folklore. All of the staff were polite and kind, and we felt very comfortable throughout our stay. It turned into a great trip, and we would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

The building itself felt a bit old, but it was very well maintained and comfortable. This time, I was looking for an Accommodation with an open-air bath in the Room, and chose this place based on Reviews. It turned out to be exactly the right choice—I already want to come back. I was also happy that you changed the dinner menu on the second night from the first day. Thank you very much!

The Ryokan is small but satisfying as a Facility. The Room was kept very clean, and for a twin it was spacious enough—no complaints. The bath was a little hot, though that depends on the person; the simple spring water had a light, refreshing feel. There is a gender swap, but I was surprised that the bath sizes differed. At check-in we were served matcha and sweets, but since there isn’t really a shop, I would have been happy if they had offered that day’s tea sweets as a small souvenir to take home. We had both dinner and breakfast and were very satisfied with the food, and the service was good. The locally grown rice in particular was delicious. If I go to Matsue again, I’d like to stay here again and would recommend this Accommodation to others.

We traveled from Aichi Prefecture to visit Tottori and Shimane. After sightseeing at Matsue Castle, we made a Reservation at this Ryokan. Even though it was the day of our trip, the front desk staff were very helpful, and the Room and overall environment were excellent.\n\nIf you’re heading from Matsue Castle to Izumo Taisha, I highly recommend this Ryokan.\n\nThe morning clam miso soup was delicious.\n\nI would love to stay again if I have the chance. The miso soup at breakfast, always generously filled with shijimi clams, is excellent. Thank you. The batteries in the Room lighting remote control were running low, so please replace them.

Everything was very clean, and the staff were courteous and attentive. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and the view of Lake Shinji from the window was wonderful. The water in the large public bath was slightly silky and left my skin feeling smooth. I did wish there were a few more washing stations. The fragrance placed in the elevator hall smelled amazing and really lifted my mood! I would definitely like to stay here again.

My family and I stayed here on the last day of our Izumo–Matsue trip. It had just opened and was truly spotless. What was disappointing 1) To get to the station’s airport limousine bus stop, you either have to go through the road right in front of the Hotel once, or take a detour toward the station (there is an elevator). 2) The self-service convenience store inside the Hotel is very small. 3) You can only enter the Hotel parking lot by turning left. What was good 1) The Room we stayed in had a separate bath and toilet. 2) The Room has a Balmuda microwave and a separate freezer. 3) The bed was comfortable, and the towels were fluffy. I’d like to stay here again when I visit Matsue next time.

It’s right across the road from Matsue Station, but you have to use an underground passage, which can be a bit inconvenient if you have luggage. The Hotel is clean, and amenities (including water) are available in the lobby for you to take what you need. The dinner and breakfast are buffet-style; the selection is neither too large nor too small, and felt just right. There are many dessert options, but I wished there were a bit more creativity—fewer choices with higher quality would be better.

I think the price, the Room, and the service were all very good. However, there was one disappointing point: cleaning was not thorough. I believe it would be even better if this were improved (that is why I am posting). The logo above the Hotel entrance and the wall-like structure in front of the entrance looked like they had never been cleaned and were dirty with dust buildup. In the Room, dust had accumulated on the air purifier, air conditioner, and around the bed by the window. I understand it may not be possible to clean these every day, but if they could be cleaned at least once a month or once every three months, I think it would feel much cleaner overall. I am posting this with hopes for improvement. I apologize for saying this while all Hotel staff are working hard.

It is conveniently located near Matsue Castle, and we stayed here while sightseeing.

This was my first stay at Dormy Inn, and I finally understood why my daughters always say, “This Hotel is great” whenever they use it on their trips. It goes without saying that it was quiet and the breakfast was delicious. What I personally loved most was the bottled water in the fridge—it was incredibly cold and felt amazing on my sweaty throat. Since it’s often left outside the fridge at other places, I was genuinely happy about that. There were also snacks provided, which helped satisfy a small hunger. Having a TV in the bathroom was a first for me, and watching a program while soaking in the bath was such a unique experience. The staff were all cheerful and efficient, which left a great impression. Thanks to this stay, I had a wonderful time in Matsue. As an aside, Dormy Inn’s character “Dormy Inko-chan” is adorable—it's rare to see a mascot with that kind of look (lol). Thank you for the sticker as well. I’ll be back again. Thank you very much.

This is a long-established Hotel located at the foot of Kunibiki Bridge near the station. I ended up staying for three nights, and the interior had been renovated, so it was comfortable. The self-serve style of picking up necessary amenities from the front desk is common these days, but they also had small snacks here, which was a nice touch. There was a good selection of welcome drinks, and breakfast was delicious with a wide variety of side dishes.

Overall, it was excellent.

The service was fine. The biggest drawback was that the parking lot was hard to find. I went to the large public bath around 20:30, but there were only enough washing stations for about four people and it was full, so I couldn’t even get into the tub and had to wait naked. It was right after dinner when it gets crowded, so it seems better to go at a different time. Overall, I would have liked the price to be a bit lower.

It was very convenient being close to the station since I had an early morning train. The air conditioning works well. There are several convenience stores nearby. I really appreciated the complimentary meal. Thank you for the wonderful food. The front desk staff were also very helpful (especially the female staff). If I have another opportunity, I would be happy to stay again.

This is my fourth stay. The staff's service was, as always, excellent. The Room was very clean and I am extremely satisfied. I would definitely stay here again if I have the chance.

The entire Accommodation rental was very clean! It was so well equipped that I honestly wanted to make it my own home. There were air conditioners in every Room, toilets on the 2nd and 3rd floors, a washing machine with detergent provided, and even a bathroom system that lets you hang laundry and dry it with warm air. Our family was extremely satisfied! We were also grateful to receive souvenir bags for each person. Everyone—if you stay even once, you’ll make great memories. We stayed as a couple in a whole Samurai residence accommodation. The comfortable distance with the staff made us feel at home. They were friendly and considerate, allowing us to relax completely. The food was especially outstanding! The dishes, prepared by Mr. A, a former chef of Tokyo Prince Hotel who also served for the Imperial Household Agency, were truly delightful—thank you so much! Located near Matsubara Castle, it was convenient for sightseeing on foot. A fulfilling trip and highly recommended accommodation!
