Thank you very much for taking such great care of us. The open-air bath and toilet in the Room were very clean, and we had a comfortable stay. We were also surprised that even the indoor bath was an Onsen. As we traveled with our grandchild, the pool was wonderful and our grandchild was delighted. Since this time was only a one-night stay, everyone was very disappointed, and we are thinking of staying longer next year. Although one of us became unwell, thank you sincerely for your attentive support. The Facility is new, yet it is a wonderful Accommodation that preserves traditional Japanese hospitality and service.

Thanks to the warm and courteous service, I felt at ease throughout my stay. The location is very convenient if you are traveling by car. For guests arriving by train, a Shuttle Service was also available to Shimoda Station. Because I have many food allergies, I chose a Plan without meals. However, the Accommodation staff kindly recommended local restaurants, and we were fortunate to get a Reservation. I was able to enjoy an outstanding simmered kinmedai (splendid alfonsino), which was absolutely delicious. The young international staff were wonderful as well—their smiles were lovely, their Japanese was excellent, and they worked with great dedication. As someone who can only speak Japanese comfortably, I truly respect them. The bath was also fantastic: the Izu stone in the indoor bath glowed a beautiful blue, and its soft texture felt very pleasant on the skin. The night view of Shimoda Port and the sunset outside the window were stunning. Thank you very much for taking such good care of us.

The delicious meals and everyone’s warm hospitality were truly soothing. In particular, thank you to the person in charge of our dinner for your thoughtful care in so many ways. This is a wonderful Accommodation, with a spacious public bath and an open-air bath where the greenery of the trees and mountains feels almost within reach. The garden open-air bath was at just the right temperature, and perhaps thanks to thorough insect control even in summer, we weren’t bothered by insects at all. Although it was fully booked, maybe our timing was good—the public bath was almost private, and we enjoyed it to the fullest. After returning home, my husband and I are quietly aiming to try every Room with a garden open-air bath. We would love to visit again, and we appreciate your continued kindness when we do. It was our first time in Shimoda on a family trip, and everyone agreed the Hotel was beyond reproach—we liked it so much that we returned earlier than we usually do when traveling. We were also traveling with my grandmother, who has difficulty walking, but they provided a bath chair and were considerate about seating during meals, so we were able to stay comfortably without any inconvenience. Many of the staff were from overseas, but everyone greeted us with a smile and provided excellent service, making our stay truly satisfying.

We stayed for one night with my parents in their 80s and the two of us, using two Rooms. We had dinner at the Hotel restaurant, and we truly appreciated that the staff noticed my elderly father was feeling cold by the window and offered a blanket. Many of the Hotel staff seemed to be in second careers, and perhaps because of that, we felt their experienced hospitality in many ways, which made our stay very reassuring. ...Just one thing: there was no foldable luggage rack in the Room to place our bags on, which was inconvenient. Other than that, we had a very comfortable time. Thank you very much.

I went on a trip with my boyfriend, whom I reunited with after five years, and we stayed at this Ryokan for the first time in a long while. The woman who assisted us was so funny and wonderful—she livened up our dinner table and showed us such thoughtful, attentive care. Thanks to her, we were able to spend an amazing and truly satisfying time. We would love to stay here again!!

Because it was a three-day weekend right at the start of summer vacation, it ended up a little over our original budget—but we wanted to stay here so badly that we made the Reservation anyway. And once we actually stayed… it was worth every yen—no, even more than that. We had an absolutely wonderful time. The location was even better than expected: right in front of us were white sand and a blue sea. There were quite a few families and international guests, but at night it was very quiet. You can head straight to the beach from the Hotel, and everything was thoughtfully prepared—dedicated beach sandals, a washing machine, towels, and more. I also really appreciated that when you take off your slippers there, you can place them neatly into a shoe box labeled with your Room name—something I found especially reassuring as someone who’s a bit particular about cleanliness. The Room was truly spacious, spotless, and very functional. Everything felt refined from corner to corner—the washbasin, furnishings, wall colors, decorations—all beautifully coordinated and calming. A small detail, but the loungewear fabric was very soft and had buttons so it stayed in place comfortably. The semi-open-air bath in the guest room had excellent water quality and temperature. Being able to soak slowly while looking out at the ocean—with no insects flying around—was pure bliss. We enjoyed our in-room meals while chatting pleasantly with our attendant; everything was delicious. The simmered whole kinmedai (splendid alfonsino) was especially impressive—large and full of flavor—truly “this is Izu!” That said, personally I would have preferred beef as steak (even a small portion) rather than chilled shabu-shabu wrapped with vegetables. If many guests are older adults, it would be great if there were an option available even with an additional charge. Breakfast included many dishes as well—I ended up eating quite a lot first thing in the morning! Overall this Accommodation deserves high marks across the board; if I had to be strictly critical, dinner alone could have felt slightly more luxurious or surprising—something that makes you think “This is exceptional—I’ve never tasted anything like it.” Even so, it was such a wonderful Accommodation that I absolutely want to return again next year. As mentioned in the reviews, the staff at the accommodation were very considerate, and the accommodation itself, with its 100-year history, provided a relaxing and leisurely experience. Meals were served in the room with a variety of dishes, all of which were delicious. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed them. However, the "Sennin Bath" being mixed-gender made it uncomfortable for women to enter. As noted in reviews, there seemed to be men lingering near the entrance, which was disappointing. On the other hand, we appreciated being able to reserve a private bath that was spacious and enjoyable.

Third visit I accidentally made a Reservation for the Japanese restaurant, but they kindly accommodated my last-minute change. When I mentioned during the Reservation that it was my daughter’s birthday, they surprised us at dinner with a beautiful bouquet and a special dessert plate. We were truly satisfied with their warm hospitality. Above all, we enjoyed what felt like a private beach far from any crowds, along with the infinity pool and sauna. Surrounded by crystal-clear sea and sky, we had an unforgettable time. The food was delicious as well! We’ll be back again.

Although it’s a bit far from Shimoda Station, they offer not only a Shuttle Service from the station but also a Shuttle Service to Sotoura Beach. If you plan to relax nearby, you won’t feel inconvenienced at all even without renting a car. There is a complimentary drink bar inside the property, and it was great that we could even enjoy beer and highballs. The pool is also available, and all the staff were very kind and helpful. What stood out most was the excellent service for children. They handed out “Rock-Paper-Scissors Rally Cards,” and if kids won three times against staff members, they received fireworks. At night, we used them to have fun on the beach, and our child was absolutely delighted. Just as the Reviews we checked in advance said, this really is a wonderful Hotel. If we have another chance to visit Shimoda, we would definitely stay here again.

This was my third stay. It’s always fully booked, so I make my Reservation early. As always, the scallops, turban shells, clams, and hard clams were delicious and plentiful. I ate right up until the end of the time limit, but if I had to ask for one thing, it would be even better with oysters as well. This time I also enjoyed fishing in the sea right in front of the property. I caught a rockfish using a jighead minnow lure. I’d love to come back again next time.

Due to the typhoon, train service to the nearest station, Izukyu-Shimoda Station, was suspended. After we contacted the Accommodation, they came to pick us up at a station where trains were still running. A welcome drink (including alcohol) was also prepared, and we felt relieved when we finally arrived. Above all, the meals were outstanding—we truly enjoyed the seafood. We are grateful for their thoughtful care in every way.

You can see the ocean from the Hotel Room, and if you walk a little way down the slope, the sea is right in front of you—perfect for picking up a coffee at a convenience store and relaxing on the beach. Dinner was plentiful, featuring simmered golden eye snapper (a bit sweet for our taste), spiny lobster, abalone, and more. It was also nice that we could use a voucher to choose items such as tempura, seared bonito, or dessert. There was an Onsen as well as an open-air bath, and we enjoyed them many times. Breakfast was buffet-style; the freshly grilled dried horse mackerel was especially delicious. They also had organic coffee, which we enjoyed. Thanks to the staff’s thoughtful attention to detail, our stay was very comfortable.

I wanted to let my grandchildren swim in the ocean for the first time, so after looking around, we chose this Hotel. The sea was very beautiful, and there was also a pool, which was great! There was an indoor play area as well, and my grandchildren seemed very satisfied. We had buffet meals for two days, and the dishes varied a little each day, so we never got bored and enjoyed everything. The only disappointment about the bath was that there was no open-air bath, and the water was quite hot, so we couldn’t relax for long. We were a large group and may have been noisy, but all of the staff were very kind and treated us warmly—thank you so much. We had a wonderful and comfortable stay, and both adults and children were very satisfied.

We were worried about the typhoon forecast, but luckily it cleared up and we were able to swim in the sea. The Goemon bath after fully enjoying the ocean was absolutely amazing!! It was a truly luxurious time that made us forget everyday life. At night, we could also see a beautiful starry sky, and our whole family made wonderful memories together. It was such an incredible day that we even said as a family, “Let’s definitely come back here next year!”!! We’re glad we chose a Multiple Night Stay with plenty of time. We stayed here to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday. Everything was outstanding—the beautiful Room, the delicious meals, the private bath, and all the Hotel staff. The food in particular was amazing; the course meal made generous use of ingredients from Shimoda, and we could truly savor Shimoda’s richness from start to finish. The Hotel staff were also very kind—helping us with a small mishap in the bath (lol) and explaining each dish clearly. My girlfriend was thrilled, and I’m glad we chose this Hotel. Thank you for taking such great care of us!

A secluded mountain Accommodation near Shimoda. The Rooms are spacious and well laid out, making it easy to relax. The Room and location are great, and a cute kitty will welcome you. The pH 9.5 hot spring water and the hostess are outstanding. Meals are just right for older guests; younger guests may want to adjust with extra rice. It’s also only about a 3-hour drive from Tokyo, so highly recommended!

Four old friends and I stayed for one night on a weekend in June. We had an ocean-side Room with an amazing view. I was worried because many Reviews complained about slow food refills, but dishes were replenished promptly whenever they ran out, and the quality exceeded the price. All-you-can-eat crab is often disappointing with thin meat, but this was substantial and impressive. If I have the chance, I will visit again.

The Room, the Onsen, the meals, and the hospitality—everything was truly wonderful. I definitely want to visit again. Thank you very much for such a lovely time.

We stayed for one night in August. Even in the high season, being able to stay at this price with both breakfast and dinner included is excellent value for money and very helpful for families. The front desk staff also provided very courteous explanations. The bathing area was a bit small, but overall—including the meals—we were very satisfied. If we have the opportunity, we would like to stay again.
