A refined and spacious Japanese-modern space. We welcome you with high-quality Onsen and relaxing hospitality.
A property with a charming retro atmosphere, offering views of a Japanese garden from the lobby. The non-smoking rooms are Japanese-style rooms facing the garden, equipped with air conditioning, toilets with washing functions, baths, safes, and refrigerators. Utilizing the source of Kaike Onsen, known for its skin-beautifying properties, we offer a rich Kaiseki meal featuring fresh fish sashimi, crab, and Japanese beef grilled on a ceramic plate.
Perched 60 meters above sea level on the heights of Hiraiso Cape, surrounded by Ishikari Bay, you can take in sweeping views of the endless blue sea and sky, with a full panorama of Otaru Bay and downtown Otaru spread out below. Ginrinso, a historic herring mansion and ryotei-style Accommodation with Onsen, is regarded as a representative example of fishery architecture. It was originally built as the residence of a major fishing magnate in Yoichi, once famed at the base of the Shakotan Peninsula as a prosperous herring fishing ground. Its grand yet elegant presence has only grown more dignified over more than 140 years since its founding, and it is now counted among “Hokkaido’s 100 Cultural Properties.” While preserving its traditional exterior and furnishings as faithfully as possible, we have enhanced our modern Facilities to pursue even greater comfort and functionality. In the rear garden overlooking the Sea of Japan, we have newly added an open-air rock bath rich in refined charm; reborn under the name “Hiraiso Onsen,” we begin anew as one of Otaru’s newest tourist attractions.
At a quiet Property slightly away from the Awara Onsen town, you can enjoy authentic Kaiseki cuisine. Additionally, the Onsen using medicinal luminous stones has a skin-smoothing effect.
The Property features a luxurious lobby and a captivating Japanese garden, with a breathtaking view of a 12-meter waterfall cascading down. Guests can fully enjoy the natural hot spring waters of Yamashiro Onsen, boasting a history of 1,300 years, in the spacious open-air Onsen baths made of cypress and stone, as well as the grand indoor bathing Facility. The Kaga kaiseki cuisine, prepared with seasonal seafood, offers a delightful taste of the changing seasons. The serene, traditional Japanese-style guest rooms and tea house-style rooms are perfect for a relaxing stay. Additionally, the Property is equipped with various Facilities for families to enjoy, ensuring an even more delightful experience.
