I stayed here on a solo trip. Everyone at the Accommodation was incredibly kind and helpful! The meals at the Accommodation were beautifully presented and delicious—I was very satisfied. I was surprised that the drinks in the Room were free! I enjoyed having alcohol on the terrace to cool off in the evening, and drinking oolong tea after a bath, haha. In the morning, I made drip coffee using hot water from the water dispenser and spent my time feeling refreshed. The Room was also very clean, and the in-room bath was an Onsen. There wasn’t any mold at all in the bathroom. The grout was spotless, the faucets were shiny, and even the drain was clean. The large public bath was great too—the design is lovely. This time my goal for the next day was visiting shrines, so I went to Ishigami-san, Hikodaki Daimyojin, and Isawa Shrine. They kindly explained nearby roads and how to get around, which helped a lot. What’s more, even after I had checked out, they actually ran after me just to give me a taxi company phone number. Thanks to that, I could take a taxi when traveling from Hikodaki Daimyojin to Isawa Shrine and arrived an hour earlier! They also recommended a very kind taxi company, so the driver told me what preparations I needed for visiting Isawa Shrine as well—and I made it up safely! It turned into such a wonderful trip! I’d definitely love to stay again!

I stayed around April for a live concert trip. The staff at the front desk were very pleasant and attentive, and the hospitality was excellent. They kindly agreed to store my luggage, which was a great help. I believe I chose the lowest-grade Room, but it was very spacious, spotless throughout, and comfortable. When I visit the Kansai area again, I would love to stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Thank you for taking care of us for two nights and three days. I have stayed in many places around Japan, but this is the first time I’ve written a Review. It was a wonderful stay, and although I didn’t have time to properly express my thanks in person, I’d like to do so here. Work has been very busy lately, and this time I came hoping to “just relax,” and this Accommodation was exactly what I was looking for. From our Room we could look out over the sea at Matsushima, and without having to leave the Accommodation much at all, we were able to spend slow, luxurious time simply gazing at the ocean. The cheerful and courteous service from the staff in charge of our Room left a strong impression on me, and thanks to them we felt comfortable throughout our stay. At the dining venue as well, they casually checked in with us—“Are you cold?”—and even someone like me who gets cold easily was able to relax comfortably. The tea sweets provided were delicious, and the bath was extremely soothing. After bathing, it’s also a fond memory that I could unwind by reading while enjoying cold tea at “Salon Kura.” Every meal was truly delicious. In particular, the anago (conger eel) takikomi rice really stayed with me. We were told that any leftovers could be made into rice balls, but it was so easy to eat that we kept reaching for more with our chopsticks and finished it all. My partner seems especially impressed by the Sendai Kuroge Wagyu steak. Being able to grill sasa-kamaboko at breakfast also made me happy—it felt uniquely Miyagi. Even when we were leaving, you prepared sightseeing maps and gourmet information for us as well, and we felt your warm thoughtfulness right until the end. It was a truly lovely Accommodation where you can take your time enjoying both Matsushima’s scenery and how comfortable everything feels on-site. A beautiful garden that reflects the seasons—so captivating you could gaze at it forever. Elegant summer décor that lets you fully experience Kyoto’s traditional culture. Hanging scrolls, ikebana, and a beautifully arranged Room down to every detail. The head chef, attendants, the young proprietress, and the proprietress herself offer warm, attentive hospitality with genuine grace. Thinking that all of this beauty is an expression of love for each guest fills me with freshness and gratitude. At Kikkawa, you can feel the refined spirit of Kyoto—an appreciation for making everyday life beautiful and joyful. It began as an Accommodation I hoped to stay at at least once in my life; before I knew it, this was my 11th visit. This was our family’s first stay, and it was wonderful. With my birthday coming up the following week, we happened to mention it at check-in, and they surprised me at dinner with live music and a dessert—plus sweets as a gift—to celebrate! We hadn’t informed them in advance about the Reserver, so I was truly touched by the surprise. Thank you very much. All of the staff were professional—from guiding our car on arrival to explaining the Hotel, as well as the lounge and restaurant teams—and they made our stay comfortable from start to finish. The housekeeping staff also greeted us warmly. The Facility was just as beautiful as in the photos, and everything—from the amenities to the in-room sweets and beverages—was thoughtfully selected, which really conveyed their hospitality. The restaurant meals for both breakfast and dinner were vibrant, uncompromising, and absolutely delicious. I was genuinely impressed by this top-class Accommodation. We will definitely return. On this trip, we made a Reservation for three twin Rooms for three groups: my son and his wife with their infant, another family, and my third son. The in-room bath was a little small, but it was separate from the toilet, which made it easy to bathe our infant safely in the Room. The view of the sea in Beppu from the Room was also very beautiful. The Onsen was not too hot and felt great. The shower had a ReFa shower head. There was a wide variety of food, and my younger son and daughters-in-law were very satisfied. The staff kindly spoke to my eldest son’s child (who is still only two) and even lent us some toys. They also lent my other daughter-in-law, who was holding an infant, a basket-like baby bed so the baby could lie down, which made her very happy. Thank you to the lounge staff. I was also surprised that guests go barefoot throughout the Hotel—there were no slippers at all. It was very relaxing, and even our toddler felt safe walking around as if we were at home. We were extremely satisfied and would love to stay again if we have another opportunity.

The staff were very welcoming, and I was able to relax at a comfortable pace. The lukewarm Onsen was so pleasant that I wanted to stay in it forever, even though the sun outside was blazing. I ordered the whale course; this area is said to be famous for whale. The lean meat had a noticeable smell and wasn’t great, but the unesu (whale belly) was very delicious.

I have wonderful memories of the Accommodation’s atmosphere and hospitality from my first stay, and this time I returned for the first time in seven years. I heard that during the COVID period you improved the parking area and the path to the Accommodation, and it was even easier to access than before. The atmosphere is still just as lovely, making it perfect for a relaxing stay. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. I especially recommend the spiny lobster sashimi and the simmered golden eye snapper. This time, I also asked in advance for a birthday surprise for my friend, and you kindly accommodated my request. My friend was truly delighted, and I’m so glad I asked. Thank you very much for your pleasant hospitality and service. Above all, one of Hana Noren’s greatest charms is Toi Onsen, which helped melt away my everyday fatigue. At night I enjoyed the bath in my Room, and in the morning I woke up early to use the private bath. I truly love this time spent forgetting daily noise—the sound of flowing Onsen water and birdsong brought exceptional comfort. Thank you again for another wonderful stay. I made this Reservation on behalf of my father and mother. They really liked the Onsen, and they said the breakfast style—taking small side dishes—made it easy even for my father, who has limited use of his hands. Last time they took more food than they could finish, so this time we chose the lowest-priced Plan, but they were still satisfied with the meals. They love the hot spring water. We look forward to staying again.

Everything—the views, the Room, the baths, the meals, and the hospitality—was outstanding. My whole family kept saying again and again that we had never stayed at such a wonderful Ryokan. First of all, the baths! The view of Otaru spread out below from the open-air bath was breathtaking. (We also really appreciated that the amenities were from a well-known cosmetics brand and that towels were always available.) Inside the Ryokan, there were furnishings that evoked the former prosperity of the Herring Mansion, making it an irresistible place for history lovers. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and I especially can’t forget the potato with butter sauce—a long-loved specialty of this Ryokan. It was such an incredible time that I almost didn’t want to recommend it to others. I definitely want to come back again next time.

We requested a birthday cake for our three-year-old grandchild at dinner. Since it was a buffet, it was difficult to coordinate the timing for all seven of us to be seated, and the staff were incredibly helpful. Two female foreign staff members kindly sang “Happy Birthday” and took lots of photos for us. Our whole family was truly moved. Thank you very much. We also really enjoyed the pool. Best of all, we could use the Onsen towels at the pool as well, and being able to spin-dry our swimsuits in a simple dehydrator was a huge help. The view from our Room was amazing too. Our three-year-old grandchild even cried after we got home, saying they didn’t want to go back home, so I think they had an amazing time. We would love to visit again in summer. Thank you very much.

I stay here once or twice every year, and it is always a truly pleasant experience. The buffet meals are all delicious—there’s nothing that feels mediocre—and the baths are spacious and comfortable. Some of the bath facilities (such as the showers) feel a bit dated, but there are no issues with using them, and having towels freely available made my stay very comfortable. I would definitely like to visit again.

This was my first stay at an all-inclusive Accommodation, and I was truly able to relax both in time and in mind. It was wonderful to enjoy views of the beautiful garden and Matsushima from the Room. The bath was a comfortable size, and it was unusual (and convenient) that it was on an upper floor, so I went in many times. The meals were genuinely delicious just as the Reviews said—I wanted to eat everything—but waiting in line a little helped prevent overeating, and I found it enjoyable to watch everything being prepared while looking forward to it. Above all, I felt that one reason it became such a luxurious experience was that all the staff provided service efficiently, with smiles and a calm sense of ease. The lounge at night also had a lovely atmosphere, and we were able to relax and talk as a couple, which was great. I would love to stay again if I have the chance. Thank you very much.
