We stayed one night in an “Omakase Suite (with breakfast).” Unfortunately, it rained, so we couldn’t see a beautiful sunset or sunrise, but the spacious, clean, and very comfortable bathroom (about 100 m²) made it an absolutely wonderful stay. The Hotel’s hospitality and service

Thank you for taking care of us for two nights and three days. I have stayed in many places around Japan, but this is the first time I’ve written a Review. It was a wonderful stay, and although I didn’t have time to properly express my thanks in person, I’d like to do so here. Work has been very busy lately, and this time I came hoping to “just relax,” and this Accommodation was exactly what I was looking for. From our Room we could look out over the sea at Matsushima, and without having to leave the Accommodation much at all, we were able to spend slow, luxurious time simply gazing at the ocean. The cheerful and courteous service from the staff in charge of our Room left a strong impression on me, and thanks to them we felt comfortable throughout our stay. At the dining venue as well, they casually checked in with us—“Are you cold?”—and even someone like me who gets cold easily was able to relax comfortably. The tea sweets provided were delicious, and the bath was extremely soothing. After bathing, it’s also a fond memory that I could unwind by reading while enjoying cold tea at “Salon Kura.” Every meal was truly delicious. In particular, the anago (conger eel) takikomi rice really stayed with me. We were told that any leftovers could be made into rice balls, but it was so easy to eat that we kept reaching for more with our chopsticks and finished it all. My partner seems especially impressed by the Sendai Kuroge Wagyu steak. Being able to grill sasa-kamaboko at breakfast also made me happy—it felt uniquely Miyagi. Even when we were leaving, you prepared sightseeing maps and gourmet information for us as well, and we felt your warm thoughtfulness right until the end. It was a truly lovely Accommodation where you can take your time enjoying both Matsushima’s scenery and how comfortable everything feels on-site. It ended up being a stay that refreshed both body and mind. We would love to visit again. Thank you very much for everything during our stay.

This was my first stay. With only three groups per day, it’s a private pet-friendly Accommodation with a gentle, welcoming atmosphere. The cuisine was excellent, as you’d expect from a Ryokan—especially the sesame tofu and soba. Meals were served in a private dining room. Our dog happily ate the dog pizza. We stayed in the “Kuu-chan” tatami Room on the first floor, which felt a bit too spacious, but it was comfortable with no odors. The bath was a private reservable bath assigned to each Room. Since we visited in August, it was too hot outside to do much. We heard bears may appear around places like Enakyo Gorge. One downside was that a belly band (manner belt) is required inside the Room.

From the moment I was picked up, the staff made a great impression, and as soon as I stepped into the Hotel, I was soothed by a wonderful aroma scent. I was shown to a private Room to check in. The Room had a simple design and was very comfortable to stay in. I also enjoyed choosing my favorite scent with the aroma diffuser in the Room. This time I joined the 1-night, 2-day fasting course. Since it wasn’t a water-only fast, I had carrot juice, homemade umeboshi (pickled plum), bancha tea, and more for dinner and again the next morning. After checkout, they treated me to rice porridge, miso soup, handmade umeboshi, hana ingen beans (runner beans), and bancha tea—everything was very satisfying. Personally, the hana ingen beans slowly simmered over two days with beet sugar were so delicious that I couldn’t help asking if they were available for purchase. After check-in, I also received a brown-rice onigiri with umeboshi, which I enjoyed on my long-distance bus ride home. There is no TV in the Room, but Wi‑Fi is available so you can use your smartphone. However, since it was such a good opportunity, I tried not to use my phone during my stay as much as possible. Time flew by as I read health magazines in the lounge with herbal tea in hand; opened the window in my guest room to read my own book while listening to birdsong; and reviewed personal finances that had been put off due to everyday busyness. From the Onsen bath area in the morning, you can see Mt. Asama—the view was truly wonderful. If there’s one thing to mention: since exercise is part of my routine personally, having showers in every Room would have made it even more comfortable by allowing me to rinse off quickly after working out. Other than that minor point, everything exceeded expectations—the staff were lovely throughout—and it was a stay I would definitely like to repeat.

I’d been wanting to visit for a long time, and I treated myself to a Multiple Night Stay solo to truly relax. I’m so glad I chose this place! I’ve stayed at many Hotels and Ryokans in Japan and abroad, and this has become one of my top three favorites. Everything used throughout the Hotel is carefully selected and meticulously maintained. The staff were warm and kind in such a natural way—it was genuinely soothing. And the food—absolutely unforgettable! I had all three meals here, and if only I had another stomach, I would have loved to try even more from the menu. There were plenty of fresh local vegetables; everything was truly delicious, beautifully presented with great taste, and above all, you could feel the chef’s love in every dish. It makes perfect sense that so many guests return again and again. It was hot in midsummer, but I rented an e-bike, rode to the beach, and went for a swim. Just as rumored, the water was crystal clear—the beach was stunning—and it left me feeling completely refreshed. I will definitely come back in another season. This was our family’s first stay, and it was wonderful. With my birthday coming up the following week, we happened to mention it at check-in, and they surprised me at dinner with live music and a dessert—plus sweets as a gift—to celebrate! We hadn’t informed them in advance about the Reserver, so I was truly touched by the surprise. Thank you very much. All of the staff were professional—from guiding our car on arrival to explaining the Hotel, as well as the lounge and restaurant teams—and they made our stay comfortable from start to finish. The housekeeping staff also greeted us warmly. The Facility was just as beautiful as in the photos, and everything—from the amenities to the in-room sweets and beverages—was thoughtfully selected, which really conveyed their hospitality. The restaurant meals for both breakfast and dinner were vibrant, uncompromising, and absolutely delicious. I was genuinely impressed by this top-class Accommodation. We will definitely return. I was able to relax on the sofa while enjoying the view of Oshima from the Room. There was a massage chair in the Room, which was great for easing my swollen legs after being stuck in traffic. Oshima could also be seen from the open-air bath in the Room, and since it was a private open-air bath attached to the Room, I was able to soak in the Onsen at my leisure. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. The simmered kinmedai (splendid alfonsino) was especially well-seasoned and very enjoyable. I will stay again, and I look forward to visiting you.

We visited for a family trip to celebrate our daughter’s marriage. As it was formerly an art museum, we were overwhelmed by the meticulously designed building by Tadao Ando and the many artworks displayed throughout the property. The Room was extremely comfortable, and the pool we had been looking forward to was wonderful—we were able to fully enjoy this extraordinary space. We expected Western cuisine, but instead were delighted by beautifully refined Japanese dishes. The drink pairings matched to each course were perfect, and every dish moved us. The congratulatory wedding cake we had ordered was also truly delicious and became a wonderful keepsake. We sincerely appreciate the warm hospitality of all the staff. This is a superb Hotel where architecture, art, and food are all in harmony, and we would love to stay again.

Every year, we make sure to visit in summer as well. Right in front of you is a sandy beach with an amazing view—it feels like a private beach, and the sunsets are beautiful. Dinner is outstanding, with delicious Japanese and Western dishes such as appetizers, sashimi, wagyu beef, nigiri sushi, and dessert. There is also a carefully selected lineup of drinks every time, including wine and sake—everything is truly exceptional. Breakfast is also wonderful: herb salad, locally made sausages from a nearby farm, truffle omelet, bread, and more—every item is genuinely delicious. We are sincerely grateful. The owner, proprietress, chef—everyone is calm and welcoming, making it very comfortable to stay. It’s such a lovely Accommodation that we’d visit every month if we could. We stayed for two nights in a private annex with three families to celebrate the golden wedding anniversaries of my parents and my wife’s parents. The villa’s facilities, the staff’s thoughtful hospitality, and the view from the villa were all outstanding—everything was perfect. It’s a place we’d love to return to. The surroundings are very quiet, and at night the starry sky is breathtaking when you look up.

It was a wonderful trip—100% perfect. Of course, I would 100% recommend it to friends and acquaintances. The Room had an ocean view, and it felt like looking at a painted seascape. I stayed here with my child. The building blends beautifully into a quiet, peaceful town, and its wonderful atmosphere instantly soothed both body and mind after a long day of walking.
