The location was excellent, and the Onsen and meals were wonderful. We were also lucky to have great weather—thank you for helping make our stay such an enjoyable and memorable time.

We stayed as a family of four, and the kids were thrilled—they’re already saying they want to come again in winter. The meals were delicious and more than we could finish, so we almost felt bad leaving any. Drinks were all-you-can-drink, and the ice-cold draft beer was fantastic. The kids also enjoyed making their own original drinks. We also loved being able to enjoy the free-flowing Onsen anytime, and went in many times. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great so we couldn’t see the stars, but next time we’d like to come back specifically to enjoy the starry sky.

A wonderful luxury villa quietly nestled in a picture-perfect setting with views of Mt. Komagatake. The king-size bed, plush high-quality towels, and thoughtfully selected amenities had the feel of a top-class hotel, while the refined full kitchen and large refrigerator were very convenient. With carefully planned lighting, appliances, furniture, a fireplace, and high ceilings—true villa touches—it was a beautifully curated place that showed great attention to detail. The in-room hot spring bath had silky water with a higher pH; it was so smooth you almost worry about slipping. It felt great on the skin and was deeply relaxing. There was also a heater next to the towel rack—perhaps another thoughtful touch to help towels dry? I did wish there were a separate spa facility as well. Dinner BBQ was extremely satisfying, with plenty of carefully chosen meats and seafood. The jingisukan (grilled lamb) and finishing soup curry were also delicious. In this season there weren’t many insects even outdoors, so we could enjoy it while feeling close to nature. We enjoyed the pumpkin dessert back in the room with the provided drip coffee—absolutely delightful. The large wall-mounted TV in the room was easy to watch, and when there was an issue with the connection, staff came right away to fix it for us. Breakfast was a full Western-style meal, and everything was delicious. The welcome drink service at the bar in the front building upon arrival had just started recently, but we enjoyed lovely cocktails—an elegant moment that built excitement for our stay along with views of Mt. Komagatake through the window. I think it’s an excellent idea. I completely agree with comments saying they would travel specifically for Angel Grand Villa Hakodate—it really is that kind of place. We found an accommodation we can truly recommend; you can feel how much the staff want to make things even better here. We would love to return again. We had a wonderful birthday eve!

This is my third visit. The meals are delicious, and since there is a bath in the Room, you can enjoy it 24 hours a day. The resident dog, Luna, is also very calm and adorable! It’s a Ryokan I truly love—quiet, relaxing, and an extraordinary space where you can unwind. There’s also a dog run where they can run around freely, so the dogs are thrilled! Next time, we’re talking about coming back for a Multiple Night Stay with my husband.

We stayed for one night with breakfast included. There were many types of Onsen, along with a charming courtyard and beautiful furnishings throughout—an Accommodation that felt truly warm and relaxing. At breakfast, the landlady’s homemade buffet of rice accompaniments was delicious, and the staff’s smiles and attentive service were wonderful. It made our stay genuinely comforting.

When I stepped into the Onsen, it felt silky—almost like a lotion on my skin! It left my skin wonderfully moisturized. I didn’t have meals included, but there were complimentary services such as coffee, and I was able to relax very comfortably.

The room was neither too spacious nor too small, just the right size for two adults. The room was also clean (though I noticed a long hair on the robe, which concerned me slightly). The bath was an open-air one, and while there were houses a bit further away that made me wonder if they could see in, there were adjustable automatic shutters. When fully lowered, they completely blocked the view from outside and kept out the cold air. Despite snow remaining from the previous day, we could enjoy a warm soak without feeling chilly. The temperature of the bath was just right for relaxing. Concerns: We chose a plan with in-room dining for our meals. However, after grilling meat during dinner, its smell lingered throughout the room until bedtime. While it might have been our oversight as well, future guests opting for this plan might want to keep their bedroom doors closed during meals to avoid this issue. It would be considerate if staff could mention this when serving meals or perhaps provide additional amenities like room sprays alongside air purifiers to enhance comfort further. That said, the meat was tender and delicious; other dishes were also very tasty with portions that felt just right. With free beer dispensers, ice cream machines, drinks in the fridge available at no extra cost, and even foot baths provided—this is overall a wonderful accommodation! Next time I’d love to visit again with my mother. Thank you for your hospitality!

When visiting Hida Takayama, be sure to stay at Sumiya Hagakure! Enjoy a relaxing and private time with our whole-house rental. The old streets of Takayama are within walking distance, making the location perfect. The breakfast rice balls were also delicious. This is an accommodation you'll definitely want to revisit!

We chose the Meat Satisfaction Plan, but it was such a feast that we couldn’t finish it—what a shame! Still, everything was delicious. The Onsen was wonderful too; the open-air bath uses natural hot spring water and felt like an infinity bath overlooking the pond. We were also happy to be able to enjoy coffee in the lounge. The Room had a lovely atmosphere, and it was fun watching the koi in the pond from the window. We’ll come again if we have the chance!

We chose this Accommodation for our final day. The meals were served in our Room, and above all, the Onsen was outstanding. Every dish was delicious, especially the sukiyaki and the surf clam sashimi. Breakfast was also generous, and the peach we had for dessert was sweet and very tasty. I was surprised by the proprietress’s greeting as it was my first time experiencing that, but thank you for taking the time to come and greet us. We would love to visit again. We will use the bottled natural hot spring water we received at check-out as a substitute for toner.

I was worried about getting there, but the Onsen with the open-air bath was excellent. Both dinner and breakfast were wonderful and impressive. I would love to visit again if I have the chance.

The view from the Room was great, and the large public bath was also excellent. Because it was a quiet location, I was able to relax and spend time in the property. Dinner and breakfast were delicious.

This was my second stay. After my visit last year, I wrote that the bath area felt dark and a bit unsafe without handrails, so I was surprised to see it had been improved this time. I understand that the darkness also adds to the secluded hot-spring atmosphere, so I didn’t expect my personal feedback would be taken into account. The towels were also personalized with a name this time. The meals were excellent—I only mentioned it as a minor point, so I was both surprised and happy. Thank you to the young lady at the front desk for walking with me to check where the bus stop was. It was another wonderful trip.

We stayed as a family during the Obon holiday. It was a charming Japanese-style accommodation with a cozy atmosphere, beautifully decorated with carefully selected furnishings, and impeccably clean hallways that sparkled! Since it accommodates only two groups per day, it was quiet, and we enjoyed having the onsen all to ourselves. Dinner featured plenty of local dishes, though I couldn't finish everything and felt sorry about it. The only downside was running out of cold water and having to go buy some early in the morning. One concern was that the sound of the flush from the room's toilet echoed throughout the room at night, making it hard to sleep. I believe this might be due to structural issues but found it bothersome!

Thank you very much for your kindness. The road to the Accommodation was narrow and a bit scary, but otherwise we were completely satisfied. The bath was excellent.

This was our second stay. We stayed the first time for our dog, and came back because the meals were so delicious. There were three of us, and while many places use extra beds for three guests, we were able to relax comfortably and were very satisfied. We were happy as ever with the adorable dogs. We were happy as ever with the delicious meals. We also loved the Onsen and the fresh greenery in the English garden. Thank you very much. We’ll be back!

This was our first stay. We arrived early, but the staff were very kind and helpful, and we are grateful. The indoor bath—especially the open-air bath—was outstanding in both water quality and scenery. The meals were delicious, with more variety and quantity than we could finish. We would definitely like to stay again next year.

The Accommodation was very clean and well maintained. It felt newer than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise. Dinner was stylish and delicious, with plenty of great dishes—I’m glad I chose the plan with dinner included. The open-air bath was an Onsen, and it warmed me up comfortably. This is an Accommodation I can recommend, and I’d love to stay again.

Although we arrived a little late, we were welcomed warmly. The atmosphere of the building—and that wonderful feeling as we walked down the corridor to our room and were shown inside—was unforgettable. The meals were also excellent; we thoroughly enjoyed ayu, wakasagi, tempura, konjac, and more until we were completely full. We were very satisfied! This is a Ryokan we would definitely like to visit again. We’d love to try wakasagi fishing too.
