The previous Matsusho-so was designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property in 2003 and cherished by many until it was lost to fire in 2021. Despite this loss, with encouragement from numerous supporters, we are proud to announce its revival as the new "Matsusho-so" on March 1, 2024. The building incorporates design elements of the original Matsusho-so while embracing traditional Sukiya architecture that harmonizes with nature. Each room features a private open-air bath overlooking a small garden where guests can enjoy seasonal landscapes. We have created a space that feels "new yet somehow nostalgic." From this nickname came the house name Tanpei, later renamed “Tanpei,” and it has since been operated as the oldest Accommodation in Tango Town to this day. The spirit of hospitality of “Sumiya no Hei-san” has been passed down through six generations and continues today.

In July 2015, the long-established Ryokan Kamogawa-kan in Minamiboso opened the adjacent DOG RYOKAN. The Property features five Rooms, each over 60 square meters. Every Room is equipped with a stylish private garden where your beloved dog can play, and you can enjoy a blissful moment soaking in an Onsen open-air air bubble bath while admiring the view. The name "Dog Sabatory" refers to the semi-outdoor space connecting the garden and the interior. This utility space can be used as an indoor or outdoor dining area to enjoy meals or as a spacious Room for your dog when heading out. Dinner is offered separately from the stay, allowing for a more flexible and carefree experience. You can choose your preferred dinner style as an optional add-on. Here, you will find a new DOG RYOKAN style where you can relax with your beloved dog.
