I have stayed here several times, and I leave satisfied every time. The Onsen is a free-flowing natural hot spring with alkaline simple spring water. Relax and unwind, and be sure to try the riverside open-air bath at least once to truly experience nature. The meals are also very delicious, including Koshu beef, and the Ryokan has a comforting Showa-retro atmosphere throughout.

I stayed for one night on a round trip from Kagoshima Airport. It was quite tucked away, but I’m glad I came. I was overwhelmed by the large baths. There were many creatively designed baths, and I spent over an hour soaking. There were lots of day-use visitors, so the changing room was crowded and lively. The well-maintained garden and the cedar trees were also impressive. It’s far, but I’d like to visit again. The only disappointment was that three men were squatting right in front of a spot where they could see into the passageway to the women’s bath area. It was obvious what they were doing and they didn’t seem to care, so I felt staff patrols are needed.

Last time I stayed here for the great value, but it was more comfortable than expected, so this time I booked a Multiple Night Stay. The building has a retro Showa-era feel and isn’t new, but the Room is fully equipped with two large beds, a bathroom, a washlet toilet, Wi‑Fi, and a large-screen TV. The welcome drink and breakfast are also appreciated. The large public bath in particular is excellent, with great water quality. I’d like to stay again for a Multiple Night Stay as a base for sightseeing in the area.

I personally love the Genroku-no-Yu bath, though it may not be to everyone’s taste. The route to the annex can be hard to find, so it’s best to ask the front desk for clear directions first.

I really appreciated the Shuttle Service from Shin-Aomori Station. I stayed in the therapeutic wing and didn’t feel any inconvenience at all. The meals were delicious, and my favorite was the soup at dinner. The Onsen was truly amazing! The “Atsuyu” bath was pleasantly warm and relaxing, and I was able to sleep well afterward feeling refreshed. I also appreciated that there are women-only hours. This time it was just one night, but next time I’d like to stay longer. Thank you very much.

This is the most satisfying Ryokan I have ever stayed at. The hospitality was beyond anything I could have imagined. The owner, the proprietress, and all the staff were wonderful people, and their warmth truly touched my heart. The meals, centered on seafood, featured outstanding ingredients and careful preparation—I was completely satisfied. What deserves special mention is the owner’s 100% buckwheat handmade soba: its aroma and smoothness were exceptional. I live in a prefecture known as a soba mecca, but I have never had soba better than this. Even the breakfast vegetables were all pesticide-free and homegrown, made with real care. The Onsen water was a reddish cloudy spring that felt gentle on the skin and relieved my fatigue. The building has a dignified presence with a sense of history. In every way it was outstanding—an Accommodation that makes you want to return again soon.

I had a wonderfully relaxing stay at a comfortable pace. It was quiet and spotless throughout, and the Onsen was incredibly open and wonderful. Every meal was deeply delicious. The staff were also very pleasant and welcoming. I feel as if both my body and mind have been refreshed. I can hardly believe how reasonably priced it is. Thank you very much. This was my first stay here. Above all, the Onsen were outstanding. I was able to enjoy a variety of baths— a clear, colorless iron-rich spring in the Room, a thick mixed sulfur and carbonated spring, and a gentle sulfur spring— and I was completely satisfied. The traditional Japanese meals made with mountain ingredients were also very delicious and easy on the stomach. I’m also grateful for the warm hospitality and smiles from all the staff. A secluded mountain Accommodation near Shimoda. The Rooms are spacious and well laid out, making it easy to relax. The Room and location are great, and a cute kitty will welcome you. The pH 9.5 hot spring water and the hostess are outstanding. Meals are just right for older guests; younger guests may want to adjust with extra rice. It’s also only about a 3-hour drive from Tokyo, so highly recommended!

No matter how many times we visit, Osawa Onsen never disappoints. We were very satisfied again this time, including the attentive service from the staff. On the drive home, we were already planning when to come back next. Thank you very much.

I had visited before for a day trip, but this was my first overnight stay, fully expecting peak Obon pricing. Since it’s an Onsen Ryokan, I assumed the guest rooms would be Japanese-style, but unlike the shared areas with samurai armor and other traditional touches, my Room was a stylish and relaxing Western-style space. I also appreciated the in-room coffee machine service. Above all, the baths were outstanding. The alkaline water left my skin feeling wonderfully smooth. There were three beautiful private baths, and after 9:00 p.m. they could be used freely without a Reservation. Perhaps because many families with children were staying, it was quiet late at night—so I tried them all. Including the large public bath, every bath was at just the right temperature; no matter how many times I soaked, I never felt overheated or unwell, and I truly enjoyed Onsen to the fullest. There are several Accommodation options in Nakagawa Onsen, but when it comes to bath management—including temperature control and cleanliness—I feel an Onsen Ryokan is still the best. We also enjoyed table tennis, and even after checkout they kindly let us use the large public bath area as a place to change after playing in the river. They were also very flexible and extremely kind regarding Shuttle Service arrangements and other requests. Thank you very much.

As mentioned in the reviews, the staff at the accommodation were very considerate, and the accommodation itself, with its 100-year history, provided a relaxing and leisurely experience. Meals were served in the room with a variety of dishes, all of which were delicious. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed them. However, the "Sennin Bath" being mixed-gender made it uncomfortable for women to enter. As noted in reviews, there seemed to be men lingering near the entrance, which was disappointing. On the other hand, we appreciated being able to reserve a private bath that was spacious and enjoyable.

Everything was excellent. Thank you for accommodating my allergies at both breakfast and dinner. Every dish felt thoughtfully prepared, and I truly enjoyed the food. The Room was clean, and being able to smoke on the terrace made my stay very comfortable. The staff were all very kind and attentive, and the private open-air bath with its spectacular view as well as the in-Room open-air bath were incredibly relaxing—making it a wonderful holiday.

Tamagawa Onsen is famous for its highly acidic hot springs. The Facility includes an Onsen area with baths at concentrations ranging from 50% to 100%. Instructions are provided in the Room, so we recommend reading them before you go. It was very relaxing, and my wife felt her skin became smoother. We would love to return.

Since my femur fracture, we’ve been staying in a Room with an open-air bath, and we’re completely satisfied with the meals, the Room, and the bath. The staff are wonderful as well, so we keep coming back. It’s a bit far away, but it’s our couple’s motto: “For birthdays, we come here.”

Although it’s a secluded Accommodation deep in the mountains, it’s relatively easy to access by car and not difficult to reach. The Accommodation features classic, traditional Japanese architecture, yet it feels clean and has been thoughtfully renovated for comfort and ease of use. It was clear how much care goes into its upkeep, which I truly admire. The surrounding nature is lush, and the greenery and gentle sound of the river are very soothing. That said, the bedding mattress felt a bit firm for me personally, which was a small minus point (I didn’t wake up sore the next morning, so this is purely my personal impression). The hot spring source is around 37°C and lukewarm, but there are also heated baths, so it wasn’t an issue. If I had one wish: since I’m not fond of lukewarm water, I would have liked the heated tub to be larger. Meals were mainly simple countryside dishes, but everything was very delicious. Younger guests might find it a little light; in that case, I recommend ordering additional dishes. For us it was just the right amount—and we could get refills of rice—so we were very satisfied. Many of the staff were young, but they were always smiling and pleasant, with excellent attentiveness and consideration. This is an outstanding Accommodation that makes Japanese guests feel at ease—I hope it never changes. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The Onsen gets you wonderfully warm and feels great. The in-room bath is also very relaxing. The Room layout is lovely, and in the morning sunlight pours in—on a clear day, you can enjoy the sunrise. The food is delicious, and you can enjoy local Ureshino sake. The rice is especially outstanding. The yudofu at breakfast was the best.

The staff are exceptionally professional. Not a single mistake from anyone. I’d love to know how you maintain such a high standard among your team. The milky hot spring bath was also outstanding. The food quality was excellent as well. That said, as someone with a big appetite, I would have liked a bit more in terms of portion size. I understand the menu changes every two months, so I’d love to visit again.

Although I was worried about the earthquake’s impact, I decided to visit from Kumamoto Airport. Perhaps because a week had passed since the quake, I hardly noticed any effects and was able to stay with peace of mind. Above all, I was amazed by how delicious the meals were. Dinner featured duck hot pot, miso soup, and rice cooked in a traditional pot; breakfast included nori seaweed, natto, and French toast. Every dish felt heartfelt, and I ended up eating far more than I expected. The Onsen was just as described in advance and helped relieve my fatigue. It was a truly satisfying stay. Lastly, I asked about the period “.” after Seifuso’s name that had caught my attention. Despite all the hardships you have faced—including the earthquake—I was deeply moved to hear that it represents putting a “.” (period) on these hardships and creating a new Seifuso going forward. Thanks to the information you shared with us by email in advance, we were able to arrive smoothly at Yukaen by shuttle bus on the day. Check-in was also explained carefully, and we stayed comfortably throughout. We considered sightseeing on the second day, but since we had fully enjoyed Chuson-ji Temple on the first day, we decided to focus on relaxing and enjoying the Onsen. We booked a head and hand course at Nagomi-yu for day use, had lunch, and spent a very restful time. The fried shrimp and minced meat cutlet we ordered for daytime drinks were impressively generous portions, and everything was delicious. The lounge pancakes were also great—we finished them in no time. Dinner on the second night featured a different menu from the first, so we could enjoy a new atmosphere as well. The hospitality truly felt guest-focused and very comfortable; my friend and I said we'd love to come back as we left the Accommodation. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
