Our facility features only 10 Rooms on a vast property. The Rooms are detached and include open-air baths. Meals are served in private dining rooms for both breakfast and dinner. Two private baths along the stream allow for a stay that prioritizes privacy.

Hida-Furukawa, known as “Takayama’s inner retreat,” is a charming town lined with traditional townhouses, white-walled storehouses, and the Setogawa River where carp swim. We have been operating this Accommodation for over 180 years. Our Meiji-era building, showcasing the craftsmanship of Hida artisans, is designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property of Japan. Our 18 guest rooms are spread across three buildings: Shogetsuro (a merchant-style building built in 1905), Kogetsuro (a sukiya-style building built in the early Showa period), and Kangetsuro (built in the Heisei era) overlooking Honkoji Temple and the Araki River. The old wooden structure, built in the early Showa era, carries both charm and imperfections in equal measure. You may feel a slight draft through the wooden-framed windows, notice low lintels standing proudly, or hear the stairs creak apologetically underfoot. If you can appreciate these as part of its charm, it would bring us great joy and gratitude.
