This is a Property where you can enjoy fresh seafood caught off the Sanriku coast, where the Oyashio and Kuroshio currents meet, throughout the seasons. Originally established in 1914, this historic Ryokan was completely destroyed in the Great East Japan Earthquake. Five years later, it was rebuilt and reopened near the Sanriku Expressway Kesennuma Central IC, making it convenient for travelers by car. The interior has been designed with cleanliness and accessibility in mind, creating a comfortable living space. With only six rooms, we strive to provide personalized "hospitality." We look forward to welcoming you.
"Among the accommodations at Dorogawa Onsen, 'Atarashiya Ryokan' was the first to introduce onsen water, offering a blend of nostalgia and modernity. From the panoramic bath, you can enjoy seasonal landscapes, the murmuring of the river, and the croaking of frogs. Especially, the snow-viewing bath by the riverside with snowmelt water is exceptional. Additionally, at our ryokan, you can savor wild boar hot pot with a secret sauce year-round."
