Thank you very much for taking such great care of us during our stay. It was our first trip to Shikoku, and it became a truly memorable journey. The warm welcome at check-in helped us unwind after sightseeing in the heat. We were also very happy with the drink service in the lobby. The Onsen was clean and very relaxing. The meals were delicious, and we strongly felt we want to come back just to eat them again—especially the dashi broth (shabu-shabu), which was outstanding! The Room was a good size, but we did notice an unpleasant smell in it. We couldn’t tell what it was—perhaps alcohol or something from the Facility—which was disappointing. Thank you for your heartfelt service. There’s no doubt many more guests will continue to visit Shikishimakan—it's a wonderful Accommodation!

This was my first stay here. The building itself had a charming sense of history, but everything inside was thoroughly cleaned, and the Onsen was incredibly relaxing. At another Onsen Ryokan where I stayed before, I noticed a musty smell in the hallways, so this level of cleanliness alone made me glad I chose this place. There was also coffee service, and it was delicious. There were plenty of restaurants toward the station within walking distance, so we were able to enjoy dinner without any trouble. We had breakfast at the Accommodation, and when I asked where to dispose of empty cans and plastic bottles from the Room, a breakfast staff member kindly took them for us. Their warm words made for a pleasant start to the day along with a great meal. When we checked out, they even took a commemorative photo for us at the entrance—every staff member was wonderful. Next time, I’d like to stay with dinner included. It was an Accommodation we were truly satisfied with.

I was thrilled to be upgraded to a Room where I could fish right from the room—it was like a dream come true! The sashimi with the meal was also very fresh, and we were completely satisfied with this Accommodation!

The Room and building may feel a bit old, but the Room offers a view of the sea, and the peaceful atmosphere made it a perfect place to relax and enjoy time with my dog. Both dinner and breakfast exceeded expectations with their delicious taste and generous portions, leaving us completely satisfied! The breakfast performance of grilling horse mackerel at the table was especially fantastic. Many of the staff members are from overseas, but they provided excellent service with warm smiles and great attentiveness. I would love to stay here again with my dog!

We stayed with a Biwako Hakodateyama Ski Resort lift ticket and meals included. We chose a Room in the main building, and it was clean, spacious, and very nice. The bath was under repair, so we had to go to the annex building, which was the only disappointing part. The bath itself was clean and good; it was just inconvenient to move. The meals were delicious, and breakfast was also great with plenty of side dishes. Considering the lift ticket included, I think it was excellent value for money. Thank you very much.

We stayed here for a celebration, and the meals, room, and service were all excellent—our whole family was very happy. If I had to ask for one thing, it would be perfect if both large public baths had an open-air bath and a sauna. Still, the in-room open-air bath was amazing—I even enjoyed it alone with a beer! The celebration cake, the drinks and sweets in the lounge, dinner and breakfast, and all the complimentary items and beverages were wonderful. The guest of honor—and our entire family—were truly impressed. Next time, I’d love to bring my parents as well; we look forward to staying with you again then.

Three family members in our 70s stayed in a Japanese-Western style Room. It’s a Showa-era building, but the Room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. We could also see a beautiful sunrise from the Room. The location was great, and we took an early-morning walk to Amanohashidate. For dinner, we chose the chef’s omakase Amanohashidate kaiseki course served in our Room, but it was far too much for us in our 70s and we felt sorry for leaving some of it. In hindsight, we should have asked about the menu before choosing the course. The bath had one tub and I recall there were seven or eight faucets and showers. It’s on the small side. It seemed that the men’s bath on the day we stayed was even smaller. The front desk staff answered our questions in a friendly manner. Overall, I think it offers very good value for money.

Sorry for the late Review, but the hostess asked me to leave one, so here it is (lol). From the entrance, the calm atmosphere was wonderful! We didn’t go into the sea this time, but the beach right in front was crowded. There’s a great photo spot right next door, so we took lots of pictures with the sunset! It’s also beautifully lit up at night. Since there are only a few Rooms, we had a very comfortable stay. The large public bath and open-air bath are available anytime, and late at night we could use them almost privately—the sea breeze felt amazing. We also used the in-room bath morning and night, and it was very relaxing. Meals are served in semi-private dining spaces, so we could eat at our own pace. The portions were satisfying even for a man, and everything was delicious! It had a homey feel, and all of the staff provided great service. Thank you as well for giving my girlfriend a small gift when we were leaving! We’d love to come back in winter for crab!

We stayed with our 2-year-old child. As I was pregnant, we chose this Hotel because it seemed conveniently located near Nara Park, and we booked a stay with meals included. Dinner was delicious and so generous that we couldn’t finish it. For our 2-year-old, they brought plain rice and furikake first, which made it easy to feed our child. Breakfast was a bit lighter and didn’t quite leave us completely full, but if you plan to eat while sightseeing, it felt just right. It may be a little too light for men. The complimentary water was very helpful. However, it was a large bottle (1.5L? 2L?), so we finished it at the Hotel. There is a 700-yen parking subsidy. Parking near the Hotel often costs over 1,000 yen, but we found a parking lot a little farther away where we could park for 700 yen and used that instead. The Hotel itself is somewhat old, but it was kept very clean, and the staff were kind and helpful.

Dinner offered a wide variety of dishes, all very delicious, and we were completely satisfied. I only wished the tempura had been served freshly made, but it was still tasty and satisfying. Breakfast was a healthy Japanese-style meal with many small side dishes that went perfectly with rice, and I was happy to be able to have three extra bowls of rice. The private bath was a bit hot, but we could adjust the temperature. The large public bath was also clean, and we were able to relax in the Onsen. The waterfall shower is right in front of you, and they even provide coins for it—excellent. The balance of food, price, and overall satisfaction was very good. We also received discounted ski tickets, which made our ski experience great value as well. They are flexible with breakfast times for hikers and can accommodate bento lunches too, which I found very convenient. I would like to stay again. Thank you very much.

My return from the airport was late, so I stayed at a Hotel about 30 minutes before reaching home. I expected a beautiful, clean Hotel based on the photos, but it was even nicer in person, and the Room was spacious. The breakfast was so delicious that I was truly impressed. The view was great too, and I was happy to find such a hidden-gem Hotel so close by. Breakfast wasn’t a buffet; it was an amazing meal made by the owner—an egg served on top of incredibly delicious bread. I’ll definitely come again!

I had been looking forward to my Kyoto trip after a long time away. Thank you to all the staff for kindly welcoming me even though it was before check-in time. Thanks to you, I was happy to complete all the temple and shrine visits I had planned. During my stay at the Hotel, I enjoyed a quiet and peaceful time. The delicious meals I had both morning and evening were truly satisfying. If I have the opportunity to visit Kyoto again, I would be delighted to stay with you again. Thank you very much.

The front desk staff were very kind and provided excellent service. However, one issue was that the beer vending machine in the building only accepted old 1,000-yen bills, so I couldn’t buy any. Other than that, it was a very good Accommodation. My wife and I also said we would like to stay again.

We felt comfortable throughout our stay. The Onsen was, simply put, outstanding. Our Room had a private open-air bath that we could enjoy all to ourselves. The water temperature was perfect, and from the moment we stepped in, it felt as if all the tension left our body. Soaking slowly while looking out over the beautiful forest was pure bliss, and we enjoyed it many times during our stay. The amenities also had a wonderful fragrance and quickly became a favorite. We chose the sake tasting Plan, and each selection had its own character and was fun to compare. As a sake lover, I was especially happy to be able to order Hiroki Aiyama separately—an exceptionally rare bottle—so finding it on the menu genuinely thrilled me. It paired perfectly with Aizu dishes such as herring marinated with Japanese pepper leaves. Being able to enjoy such precious sake while traveling is a truly luxurious memory, and it felt like something unique to an Accommodation in Aizu. They also lend inflatable rings for the Onsen. At first I thought, “An inflatable ring in an Onsen?” but after trying it, I was honestly amazed by how comfortable it was. Floating effortlessly while soaking lets you relax even more deeply than usual. It made me appreciate both their creativity and their playful desire for guests to fully enjoy the Onsen experience. The inflatable ring left a strong impression—I could soak almost face-down in complete relaxation. The cuisine, Onsen, and service were all excellent; this wasn’t an Accommodation where only one aspect stood out—the entire experience was consistently high quality. Thoughtful care could be felt everywhere, and the whole place overflowed with genuine hospitality. People say travel is defined by where you stay, and this visit truly proved that saying right. From the superb Onsen and heartwarming service to the eye-opening inflatable ring experience, it became a wonderful trip filled with great memories. We would love to visit again in another season—thank you very much.”

Amazed by how delicious the food was! Honestly, since it’s in the countryside I didn’t expect much, but dinner was surprisingly good. Everything was tasty with Kanto-style seasoning, and the simmered sea bream head was outstanding. In each appetizer, you could feel the chef’s love for cooking. The local specialty, Iwakuni sushi, also had a gentle flavor and was exquisite.\nFor the Room, we recommend the second-floor corner Room where Uno Chiyo’s father once indulged in lavish stays.

This time, we used the Kagoshima Travel Discount and made a Reservation for a Room with a private bath. Since we already knew from our previous stay that the food would be excellent, we looked forward to the day with excitement. The bubbles in the in-room bath were far more impressive than expected—what a surprise. We were told it’s possible precisely because the tub is compact. The large public bath alone is satisfying, but if you want an even more memorable experience, I highly recommend reserving a Room with a private bath. The food was outstanding again this time, and we were truly satisfied. This is an Accommodation we’d like to save up for and visit again. Thank you to all the staff for your consistently warm hospitality.

It may not be flashy, but this Accommodation offers great meals, excellent cleanliness, and everything you need for a comfortable stay. The building itself is probably old, but it is kept very clean. You lay out your own futon, but since you can do it whenever you like, it was actually better that way. And the food was absolutely delicious! At dinner, they timed things perfectly and brought soup just when we were ready to eat rice. They also kindly accommodated our request to change breakfast to a boxed meal for pickup at 4:00 a.m. due to an early departure. The front desk staff were very kind and pleasant. They let us leave our luggage in a large hall while we went hiking, and after coming down we could bathe and then sort our bags and rest there, which was a huge help. When climbing Mt. Oyama, I would definitely like to stay here again.

The breakfast was wonderful. We had a great time! The campfire also had a lovely atmosphere. We’d love to visit again.

This was our first stay at Ayunosato. I had been interested in this Accommodation for a long time, but never had the chance until this visit. In conclusion, it was a far better Accommodation than I expected. I also liked that free drinks were available. As it is an Accommodation by the river, we were able to fully enjoy the view from the terrace. I have a big appetite, so it would have been perfect if there had been an à la carte menu, but I was still satisfied with what was offered. The lobby’s design and atmosphere were great, and the staff were kind and attentive, which we really appreciated. We were able to relax in the open-air bath in our Room, and I was impressed that the washing area even had heated flooring. Since there were two of us this time, we could stay in a spacious Room and enjoy it to the fullest. It’s also worth noting that it’s close to the expressway with very little driving required.

The cuisine, room, Onsen, and hospitality were all wonderful at this Ryokan. The price was also very reasonable. It is located about a 5-minute walk from Echigo-Yuzawa Station, and I loved the location as well. I would like to stay here again if I have the chance.
