After arriving at the Accommodation, we borrowed an electric scooter and took a stroll along the seaside. Back in the Room, we worked up a sweat in the wood-burning stove sauna and felt refreshed, then enjoyed ice cream in the lounge while playing Pac-Man (lol). For dinner, we savored dishes featuring superb live squid and Saga beef with Tiger Beer, then went to sleep in a spacious bed while gazing out at the sea. Breakfast was also excellent—the rice was sweet and delicious, paired with local specialties like mirin-dried fish and squid shumai that you can only find here. After that, we took a cruise ship around Kabeshima Island. In the calm summer Genkai Sea, on the far side of Kabeshima we saw columnar joints like natural stone walls, listened to stories about islands near and far, and felt the wind as the boat sped along. We truly enjoyed an exceptionally special time. There are still so many great points I can’t even write them all—this all-inclusive Plan is simply amazing. On our way back they drove us to Karatsu-Nishi Station, making it easy to get to Hakata as well; it’s surprisingly accessible even without a car. This is an Accommodation I’ll keep remembering fondly long after returning home.

It was our first time staying in a cultural heritage property, and it was a valuable experience for our children as well—we were able to enter places we normally wouldn’t, such as the tea room, Noh stage, and storehouse. It also allowed us to take a three-generation trip with our parents, who preferred not to travel far due to physical limitations, and we made wonderful memories.

The meals were even better than I expected from the Reviews, and I could tell they were prepared with great care and time. I reserved a Room on the third floor, but the stairs are steep, so I don’t think I could return unless my legs are still strong enough. Yufuin Onsen seems to have many Accommodations. I highly recommend Hakuunso.

Everything—the Room, the bath, and the meals—was excellent, but above all, the staff were truly outstanding. Even though we caused you trouble with changes to the Shuttle Service pickup location due to our circumstances and issues such as a locker malfunction in the bath area, you responded with great kindness. My daughter and I kept saying how glad we were that we stayed here. Thank you very much. We expect to visit the island several more times in the future, so we will continue to stay at your Accommodation.

The property was wonderful, with the hostess and all the staff being attentive and considerate. We are truly grateful for accommodating our unreasonable requests. The room and hallway were well-maintained, and the garden exuded a dignified beauty. Thank you for taking care of us.

■Guest Rooms Very spacious, comfortable, and thoroughly cleaned. ■Hospitality & Service Staff interact with guests at just the right distance. ■Onsen You can enjoy both a clean, lower-temperature bath and a standard-temperature bath. For first-time visitors to Kusatsu, the Onsen may feel quite hot, so this thoughtful consideration from the owner is appreciated. ■Facility Clean overall, and it’s nice that a Lawson convenience store is nearby. ■Dining The meals were not very satisfying for me. The aromas were strong, and I couldn’t fully appreciate the natural flavors of the ingredients. What lowered my rating most was that the wine pairing was very disappointing. I think it would be better to offer around three glasses with wines priced at about 2,000 yen per glass. I felt a significant mismatch between the atmosphere of the Accommodation and the taste of the wine. ■Overall Satisfaction If you decide to dine at other places instead, this is an Accommodation with a high level of satisfaction. Above all, it feels exceptionally clean.

I booked this pension within walking distance because I had long dreamed of seeing the fresh green metasequoia-lined avenue in the morning and evening. I also used everyone’s Reviews as a reference. Luckily, we were blessed with great weather, and we fully enjoyed the vibrant new greenery along the metasequoia trees and felt refreshed by the clean air. Early in the morning there were hardly any tourists, and our walk became a truly wonderful time. Dinner was delicious from start to finish—from the main Omi beef to the apple sorbet—and we were completely satisfied. The recommended white wine was far better than its price suggested, making the meal even more enjoyable. Breakfast was also outstanding, especially the freshly baked bread and homemade strawberry sauce (jam). Above all, both our room and the large public bath were beautifully maintained and very clean, and in so many moments we felt warmed by the thoughtful hospitality of the owner and family—it became a soothing, heartwarming trip. When we left after check-out, the owner waved goodbye as we drove out of the parking lot, which deeply moved both my husband and me. We would love to visit again in a different season next time. I was able to stay comfortably again this year. It was disappointing that, for some reason, I couldn’t watch YouTube and the amenities didn’t arrive. However, when I checked in and entered the Room, it was cool inside, and I really appreciated your thoughtful consideration. Thank you very much. I would like to stay again next year.

As it’s a new Hotel, everything is spotless. I have lower back pain, but the mattress firmness was perfectly comfortable. The Room key uses a PIN code system, so I recommend taking a photo of the number you receive at check-in on your phone—it will be useful later. At the bar counter there were Black Nikka, Kurokirishima, Nanawarai, and more, so I had a glass of Kurokirishima. I think it’s a good idea to buy cup ice and soda water as well. There didn’t seem to be any restaurants within walking distance; however, there is a drugstore and a supermarket across the street. The only disappointment was that at 6:40 there was an extremely long line for breakfast! We were told we could take it back to the Room to eat, but due to my son’s event we gave up waiting and checked out. That’s why I deducted one star. I would like to stay again if I have the opportunity.

The stay was stress-free as always. There was no crowd at the reception during check-in or check-out, and we rarely encountered other guests in the elevator. As a family with children, choosing a Hotel with fewer points to worry about is important for us. Thank you for providing champagne and organic orange juice in the refrigerator. The access was excellent since there was an event at Tokyo Dome again. We look forward to staying here next time as well!

We stayed in the Luxury Suite as a family of four. The Ryokan slippers were a bit hard and uncomfortable to wear. Other than the distance and cold walk from the Room to the large public bath, everything was excellent. The rental yukata and hair accessories were lovely. On snowy days, we recommend avoiding the Yamanami Highway. We are grateful for the front desk's kind advice on the best route home.

Surrounded by nature, the Room was very clean. Thank you to the staff for the courteous and thorough explanations. There was a private dog run and other places to walk, so our dog was happy too. We would like to stay again.

The food was very delicious, and I would like to stay at this pension again.

We arrived by rental car. At first, even with Google Maps we couldn’t find the Accommodation’s parking area and were a bit confused, but when we called the Accommodation, a staff member came to pick us up right away. Everyone on the staff was kind and pleasant. The meals were also delicious. No matter the time of day, the view from our Room of Onomichi’s townscape and Senkoji Temple was truly beautiful. We did notice some noise from footsteps in the hallway and doors opening and closing, but we were still able to rest well. We would love to stay here again next time we visit Onomichi. It was my first time visiting the Oki Islands, and their advice on sightseeing routes was very helpful. The Hotel was within walking distance from where we parked the rental car. There was also complimentary coffee and tea service on the first floor, so we could relax and take our time.

I stayed here to visit Kiyotsu Gorge. It was my first trip to Niigata. Perhaps because it was a weekday, there weren’t many guests, so I could relax and take my time. At the Premium Lounge, drinks such as beer were all-you-can-drink, and the Onsen’s open-air bath was wonderful. Dinner was a course meal, and breakfast was a buffet— both were very filling! It’s right in front of the ski slopes, so it’s a perfect location for skiing in winter. The station is within walking distance, but they kindly drove me back to the station on my way out. They took great care of everything, and I was very satisfied. Thank you very much.

I previously stayed at the auberge run by Fukuchiyo Shuzo, and when I learned they had another concept Accommodation, I chose this one for my visit. Having the entire building to ourselves was great—we could relax without worrying about staff. The kaiseki dinner was also delicious. The stay included a brewery tour, and the president’s talk was fascinating. As a sake lover, it was a truly valuable experience. Thank you very much. *One small point: there is a gap in the door separating the bathroom and changing area, so water from the shower soaked the changing area. It might help to seal it with rubber or something similar.*

It was a Saturday stay, but since the Accommodation has only a few Rooms, it felt relaxing even when fully booked. The bath is a hot Onsen. There is also a sauna, which was great. We enjoyed the welcome drinks—alcohol, amazake, and popcorn—while relaxing in the lobby. We had bought corn at the local farmers’ market, and to our surprise there was a microwave in the Room. We heated it up late at night as a snack with drinks and enjoyed freshly cooked corn. We really appreciated that. The Room was clean, and although we didn’t use it, there was also a rain shower, which would be nice even during hours when you can’t use the bath. There is also a washing machine and dryer. It was an Accommodation where everything you might need is thoughtfully provided. Dinner featured very tasty meat; it wasn’t extravagant, but there were local dishes as well. The staff member serving us kindly explained many things to us, so we had a very satisfying dinner. We would love to stay again.

Although breakfast is not normally provided, at check-in we received two sweet buns, a carton of milk, a boiled egg, and salt. In addition, from 7:00 a.m., you can try an onigiri service on a trial basis—said to be exceptionally delicious (they make it fresh and fill it with your choice of ingredients).
