In the distance, you can see Echigo Komagatake, one of the Echigo Sanzan mountains. Occasionally, you can hear the chirping of birds, and the river flows gently. The rice, of course, is Koshihikari from here in Oritate. The simmered royal mountain vegetable, zenmai, is deliciously prepared.
