I was able to spend a relaxing time at this incredibly tranquil property. The hospitality of all the staff was excellent, and I was convinced of its long-standing reputation. Both the onsen and meals were wonderful!

Located in a serene natural setting, this accommodation offers an escape from everyday life. Staying here while listening to the sound of the flowing river is truly soothing. The onsen with natural hot spring water is at the perfect temperature, allowing you to relax for as long as you like. My daughter was delighted to play with a wild raccoon. Although we only had breakfast, it was well-balanced and gentle on the body in both content and portion size. The accommodation is clean and comfortable, making it a place we’d love to visit again next time with dinner included!

Hakuba Happo Onsen is located at the western edge of the Fossa Magna, and its rare mineral composition—due to exposed serpentinite—is said to be unusual in Japan. As it was the off-season (summer), I was able to relax and enjoy the large public bath on my own. Dinner was authentic French cuisine, and breakfast featured galettes. The one-night Plan with dinner and breakfast for one person, priced just under 20,000 yen, felt both luxurious and great value. In winter, many international skiers visit, so Hakuba may have plenty of Hotels and lodges where you can enjoy excellent meals. The Accommodation owner kindly came to pick me up at Hakuba Station even for a single guest. While being served by a wonderful madam during dinner, I enjoyed Nagano-produced wine. The Hotel itself is quite old, but even taking that into account, it was a very good-value stay. It was also conveniently located—about 1–2 hours by bus or train—to Nagano, Matsumoto, and Itoigawa Station on the Sea of Japan side along the Itoigawa–Shizuoka Tectonic Line. The room was clean and very pleasant. The children felt at home and relaxed. We understood the Goemon bath concept, but the fixed shower and concrete feel were a bit disappointing. Due to the extreme heat during the day, the temperature on the second floor did not cool down enough for sleeping, so we had to sleep on the first floor, which was unfortunate. We would appreciate it if you could consider measures to address the heat on the second floor. The meals and service were excellent, and we were very satisfied. Thank you very much!

We were able to relax and forget about time. This time we stayed as a couple, but next time we will come with our family. The food was also very delicious. The atmosphere was great, and the greenery of the trees was wonderful. Thank you to all the staff for your hospitality.

Although my check-in was later than planned, the staff accommodated me without any displeasure. The meals were just the right amount, leaving nothing behind, and were very delicious. The hot water was so smooth, like soaking in a beauty serum, that if I lived nearby, I would use it frequently. Since it is a small Ryokan, the walking distance was minimal, making it very convenient. It was a Ryokan I would definitely like to stay at again.

Stayed with the One-Night Stay with Breakfast Plan. The bath in the Room was unexpectedly spacious and allowed me to enjoy the view while relaxing, which was very satisfying. I would love to visit again during cherry blossom or autumn foliage season. The breakfast was also satisfying in both content and taste.

Stopped by during a tour to Chausuyama Kogen Road and Horaiji Mountain. Over 30 years ago, the current proprietress's father started this property by renovating their old family home. Nowadays, properties renovated from old houses are not uncommon, but the foresight to start it in that era is impressive. Urugi Village is a great place to spend a relaxing time in a rural setting. The proprietress's proud dishes of game meat and mushrooms, salt-grilled sweetfish, and horse sashimi were very satisfying. The gohei mochi served at the end was also quite filling. There was "Urugi Onsen Komadori no Yu" nearby, so we went there for a bath. Therefore, we did not use the bath at the property. It was a nice property, friendly to riders. I stayed on Friday, July 11. That day, due to the eruption of Shinmoedake and news reports saying that Kirishima City was experiencing a water outage, many Reservations at Ryokans and Hotels in Kirishima City were reportedly canceled. However, in reality there was no impact at all, so I felt the reporting was overly alarmist—this is exactly reputational damage caused by rumors. Kirishima Hanamurasaki offers a very comfortable Onsen, and the food is absolutely delicious. In addition, the hospitality is outstanding. I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

We stayed as a family of three, and the affordable price was a great help. The bath was clean, the hot spring water quality was excellent, and we were very satisfied.

Thank you for warmly welcoming us despite our late arrival after 8 PM (we had a breakfast-only plan). The room and onsen were very comfortable, and we felt completely refreshed. The breakfast was plentiful, and the staff provided excellent service. The water pressure in the bathroom faucet was weak, and it was difficult to adjust the temperature, so it would be great if this could be improved. While some of the facilities feel slightly dated, everything else was fine, and we had a very pleasant stay. We would love to stay again if we have another opportunity.

I recently traveled to Hakone. I was unsure which Hotel or Ryokan to choose, but I decided on Mitake-san because they offered in-room dining that looked delicious in the photos and had a private open-air bath option. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by adorable cats and kind staff, and the food was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed a wonderful and happy two days in Hakone. I hope to visit again within this year!

A charming, nostalgic Showa-era Accommodation. I stayed here on the way back from Kamikochi with a foreign friend who wanted to experience a traditional Japanese Accommodation, and this place was perfect. My friend was very satisfied. The guest room was quite old, but they appreciated that as part of the charm. The bath had retro tiled walls and featured a fairly hot Onsen, which they enjoyed. The meals were also very delicious.

I was able to relax in a tatami Room on a futon. The Onsen temperature was just right for me. The Keroyon washbasin brought back memories of old-fashioned public baths. The Facility has a strong Showa-era feel, but it was well cleaned, and all the staff were courteous, so I had a very pleasant stay. The toilet and washroom are shared, so as long as that doesn’t bother you, I don’t think there will be any issues. Thank you very much for your kind assistance!

We stayed as a group of three: two adults and one elementary school boy. As many others have mentioned, the food was absolutely amazing. Even for us, a couple with big appetites, there was so much food that we couldn't finish it all. The fresh sea bream and spiny lobster sashimi were incredibly delicious. The fried shrimp was perfectly crispy with a light batter, served freshly fried. It was even better than the spiny lobster fry we had at a famous lunch spot earlier that day! For breakfast, they kindly made sunny-side-up eggs for me when I mentioned I don't like raw eggs, which was very thoughtful. The owner, hostess, and even their staff (perhaps their daughter?) were all so warm and welcoming. It felt like they truly valued "once-in-a-lifetime encounters." Although the building and facilities are old, everything was sparkling clean, making our stay very comfortable. We were told there wouldn't be a toilet in the room but were pleasantly surprised to find a clean toilet in our room after all. The futons were fluffy and comfortable—perfect for someone like me who has back pain. The bath uses Onsen water that left us feeling warm and relaxed; of course, it was also impeccably clean. If we visit the Ise area again in the future, we would definitely love to stay here again. Thank you for such an enjoyable time!

My sister and I planned a SUP trip at Lake Aoki, and this Hotel is where we ended up. It was absolutely the right choice! We’re already talking about coming back in ski season. The Room was spacious, with a view of Lake Aoki from the window. The bathroom and other water facilities were clean and pleasant, and we had a very comfortable stay. Both dinner and breakfast, carefully prepared with local ingredients, were high quality—wonderful in both taste and atmosphere. The staff were full of hospitality and kindly helped us with our questions. In addition to the Shuttle Service from the station, they also provided Shuttle Service to the SUP meeting point, which was incredibly helpful. Nothing particularly outstanding or disappointing. The location is convenient, and you can start exploring Shirakawa Village from the morning. One of the service staff said they are from Yangon and send money back home to support their parents. I realized how tough that must be. When I went sightseeing, there were indeed many international visitors, but I didn’t feel that as much at this Accommodation. If I have the chance, I’d stay again—that’s about it.

Family glamping trip. A sudden downpour started in the evening, and the dome began leaking. When we spoke to the staff, they immediately moved us from the dome to a villa Room. We really appreciated their quick response. The open-air bath attached to the villa also helped soothe our tired bodies. All of the staff were kind, and their smiles made this a relaxing trip.
